Picking Up A Pair Of Beautiful Budgies
You must quarantine all Birds for 30 days minimum! Even if they look healthy, you need to keep them at least 5 meters away from your others. Illness can time time to show itself.

Hot Sandwich Makers And Birds Don't Mix!
It may be, but I use a more expensive supermarket seed (Lovitts Whistler Bird Seed Avian Science Budgerigar Mix) and it doesn't actually have much if any of that red seed. It is the bigger long seeds that look like oats that he leaves behind. Do other people's bird also turn their beaks up at these, or is Smokey just fussy? That's Hulled oats, and mine do the same. It's meant to be good to help them put on weight. Mine are starting to eat some of it, but it's usually the last one eaten!

Anyone Want An Extra Husband?

Play Park
Hi Maesie, I think he is shaping up to be called a very simple "Bill" when he is naughty probably William..... He is starting to settle in a lot more, exploring the house, found the mirror in the bathroom for checking out his reflection... Aaron. I love it... especially his extended 'naughty' name. I'm very pleased he is settling in nicely. His is definately one of the cutest budgies I've seen in a long time (apart from my own of course lol)

Normal Budgie? I Don't Think So
Hi and welcome Craig B, new bird and family Your budgie is 100% normal. Most budgies behave this way... even if the cage is huge. S/he is just figuring out it's cage and testing the boundaries. If you could post a photo of its cage and s/he that would be awsome. We could help you with cage setup and age/sex of your bird. Most pet shops get it wrong. If you're worried about him/her getting stuck in the seed dish, maybe supply it on a flat dish until it calms down a little. It might take a few days, bit it will calm down, it won't hurt itself (not likely) and it doesn't have a mental issue. More than likely it was breed in an aviary situation, then put into the cage at the pet shop and then into yours... It may help to cover three sides of the cage and only have the front section open. This should help to calm your new friend down!

Hot Sandwich Makers And Birds Don't Mix!
Welcome Marlo's Mum . Good to see you around. I feed my birds frozen veggies as I live alone and don't eat enough fresh veggies myself to warrent keeping them. I do try have have fresh carrots to grate too. Millet is also good for putting weight on, and if Charlie is anything like my 'kids' it wont last long! maesie xo

Bird Cage For Multiple Budgies
I agree with lots of points already made... BIGGER is better, that way they have plenty of room to fly around and if there are days you don't have time to let them have out of cage time, it's no big deal. Watch for cage bar spacing. I bought my first cage off ebay and although the bar spacing was meant to be okay, when it arrived it was a little too wide. I used it for a little while whilst my chicks were just out of the nest... then I bought a new one (same as Bea's in that post) and it's awsome. You asked if they have a bigger cage will they be less likely to come out and play... I would say NO. If you are working with them to tame them etc... they'll still want to play with you Remember to quartine your new budgie in another room for 30 days, and good luck. Please keep us updated on your purchase
