  1. CLAUDE???? They are all so adorable LIV, you must be so proud!
  2. Oh Denise... I can't help you but had to pop in and say how adorable they are . You must be so proud!!! (P.S. I also hope you're feeling much better )
  3. Oh... good luck mate. Sounds stressfull. I hope both pairs settle down and you have happy families once again
  4. Thanks!!! I did a search on ebay... but I think I had wooden sewing box instead
  5. She's going through some big changes in her life Deb... I remember you saying some where too that you notice her feathers are looking different. My 'educated guess' would be she about to moult or it's her diet change. With the latter, she should now begin to receive different nutrients etc... I know when I go on a health kick (okay, okay... you can all stop laughing now!!!! ), your body goes through changes, same as when you eat unhealtherly... so maybe she has similar stuff going on? It's a big change... so maybe just give her time. I'd continue to spend the same amount of time with her and do all the stuff you used to do... and just see. I'm sure it will pass in time, and I don't think she is loosing her bond with you... you're her mummy
  6. It's great to have awesome friends. What a champion! Hope you're okay mate.
  7. I'm in the process of preparing my Christmas Wish list (It's so hard!!!), and as I'm now living on my own... I need a sewing basket. Now no offense to any one... but I don't want one of the old granny looking ones, with material and lace :tut_tut: . My Granny has one of those wooden ones that fold out, and has four small compartments plus the large one on the bottom. I bought one for my sister a few years ago, but now I can find them. I have found one online: Wooden Sewing Box. The small one is EXACTLY what I'm looking for. My sister's was similar but had material panels in the top. Either or would be fine. Does anyone know where I can fine them??? I did do a search on Google but didn't have much luck. Thanks in advance all
  8.  Worth a try anyway... if it works, eventually you wont even have to take out his seed. He'll be excited that his 'dinner' has arrived. I look forward to hearing how your 'dinner for two goes'
  9. Thanks for sharing!!! It's a whole different experience when they can't fly away isn't it. It looks like he is having a blast... yah for you both!
  10. He knows... this is when you give him his veggies (remove his seed dish during that time)... and maybe sprinkle a small amout of seed on it to encourage him (I say seed as this is what he likes). I'd have a fair guess he'd start eating his veggies in no time!!! From those photos... he looks solid I wouldn't say fat or overweight too much... but could do with a little more excersize (which it sounds like he is getting now)
  11. Sorry for your loss mate. Put Chomper in a few plastic bags in the fridge until you can get him to the vets. Hopefully it's nothing serious. I agree with Kaz... she'll be fine. If you make sure you put her food just outside the nest box (maybe next to the opening) she won't have far to pop out, have a feed and go back in. Good luck and please keep us updated.
  12. Yeah... I'm so very excited for you. Congratulations
  13. Shows my ignorance doesn't it I make no excuse for my lack of experience in this area... Thanks for confirming that... she is a cutie!
  14. NAKED BABY BUDGIE COMPETITION The time has come to vote for your favorite Naked Baby Budgie! Please one vote each. The pole will run for two weeks... after which a winner will be announced. Good luck and I look forward to see the results!
  15. How'd it go?????? I bet is was a blast
  16. Has she been plucked???? It looks like on those photos that she has a 'bald' patch on her head???
  17. Thk... considering Charley is so into you, perhaps prepare yourself a nice bowl of veggies for him AND YOU... and sit down and eat it together. Budgie are 'monkey see monkey do' animals, and because you are his 'monkey' (no offense intended ) he may just follow your lead. I might add, my inside budgies, Gucci and Dolce seem to play with their veggies too... but I do think they eat some of it. He'll get the idea eventually. Maybe even serve it differently. Mine enjoy throwing carrots and peas on the floor, so occasionally I blend everything up together so that's not so easy. This discussion of pellets V's seed has been had before time and time again. There are those who swear by each... it is something that will NEVER be resolved. Regardless of my opinion, trying to convince one of the other is like getting someone to swap religions... not happening. It seems everyone has had their chance to voice their opinions... so I suggest it is left there. Thk has had her question answered regarding this... so I suggest we get back on topic and help her get Charley a little bit more trim and terrific
  18. Great news! I'm so pleased for you both.
  19. Sounds good! It does take a lot of patience by you and trust by her... but it will be worth it. I look forward to following your journey here
  20. Hi and welcome. I'm so sorry you have had to join on such sad circumstances. Hugs to you all. I agree with the others... I'd just add that you could make up some posters (get the kids to help) that you could put up in the neighbourhood with her picture... someone might see her, or she may fly into someone's back yard... Good luck and best wishes... maesie xo
  21. BULL!!! What a heap of you know what. I'm with the majority of others... feed a balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit/veggies, give them plenty of exercise and enrichment, and you will have a happy healthy bird! Also... birds eat more at certain times of the day... like first thing in the morning, and later in the day/afternoon. If you figure out when Charley eats the most... perhaps serve up his fresh greens then and remove the seed for a little while. That way he MIGHT fill up of them first, and have less room for his seed when you return it??? I've never done this myself, but just an idea :party0011: I look forward to following his weight loss journey.
  22. :party0011: Today is the last day you can enter... get your entry in to win!!! A poll will open tomorrow for judging.
  23. "Yah... It's 6.15am and a work day... Whoo hoo. I'm so glad!"
  24. So sorry for your loss. Hugs xo
