New Addition
Yeah you can (I 'handle' all my budgies throughout quarantine), it is a good time to begin bonding because they are not in contact with other birds. However, I would wash your hands before touching your other budgies, just as a precaution. Elvis is a great name .

Aviary News
Done deal, (Laughing out loud).Though we may have a bit of an issue with transport, plus the fact that the gazebo isn't ready for budgies yet *forlorn sigh* . I wish we could, but we really have no where to keep a huge spa . (I already bought it up with dad).

Buying A New Budgie
Hi and welcome to the forum Michelle, I suggest you start with the FAQ's and checking out some old posts, they are full of heaps of useful info . And I'm sorry to inform you, but you will have caught the bug already. Your symptoms will begin to show any where between 1 day to a few weeks and may include behaviours such as: buying more budgies, spending excessive amounts on budgie toys and accesories, filling up your camera memory with budgie photos and spending the majority of the day on BBC forum .

Olive: What To Do?
Well, it's been four days since I have moved her and she is showing no signs of settling down. So I'm going to put her in the aviary tomorrow morning . Worming - check Mite treatment - check Vet visit -check And no signs of any illness so far. I don't like the idea of breaking quarantine but I think this is best for her health and safety. Like you said Kaz, stress causes illness and she is definitely stressing herself out right now. I'll keep a very close watch on all the aviary birds and if anything out of the ordinary pops up, it will be straight off to the vets.

Aviary News
Thanks guys, I can't wait and am very excited. I've start picking out spots for toys, and I stand there thinking "I could put a perch from here to here and some rope there" But I shouldn't get too carried away because it won't happen for a while yet! . Though I may try and get grandpa in on it and we can start a bit earlier, the only problem is we will need to move the spa when we sell it, so I don't want to do most of it up, only to have to rip it down again. That was definitely the first thought that popped into my head! :(Laughing out loud):

Olive: What To Do?
Yeah, that is why I'm truly considering putting her in a week early, because she has not shown one sign of illness and does appear to be "fighting fit". On the other hand, I'd hate for me to put her in and something goes horribley wrong .

Aviary News
The plan was to build my 'big aviary' in the fernery after the renovations were done, but the other day dad and I were having a chat over feeding the animals and we came up with a brilliant idea (I think it's brilliant anyway ). Turn our spa into an aviary! (it's not as strange as it sounds, really.) We have an 8 seater spa set in a gazebo type structure, which we don't have any time to use and so we've been meaning to sell it (though with the drought we might have a few difficulties). This is what it looks like: The photos don't really do it justice, it is massive, plus it will need alot of work and probably won't get done for many months or years. But I'm still very excited and have been making plans in my head for days! :(Laughing out loud):

Olive: What To Do?
Because of renovations to the ferney, a few days ago I had to move Olives' quarantine cage down the end, where she is far away from the 'construction site'. This has put her in a position where she can see (from a long distance) and hear clearly the aviary budgies. On a good day Olive is a crazy little budgie, but now that she is avidly attempting to get to the other birds, she has flown (no pun intended) completely of her rocker and I really am afraid that she is going to seriously injury herself. Yesterday I was out there talking to her, attempting to calm her down to no avail and she flew straight into her perch and fell to the floor of her cage, where she sat dazed for a minute or so (thankfully there was no more damage done). I've also tried covering her up with a towel, but it hasn't made a bit of difference. She only has a week left in quarantine and I don't really have any where else to put her as I seem to have quarantine budgies all over the place. So do I leave her in her cage, where she could potentially hurt herself or introduce her to the aviary a week early? Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated .

This Man Built A Bird Cage Out Of An Ikea Wall Unit
That seems like a good idea and the cage itself looks great. Though I'd be worried about the stains/varishes/paint used on the wood, plus wood is a pain in the butt to clean!
