Count Down
Here are some photos of my auction birds they are not real good because the birds wouldn't relax for the camera they are very nervous birds. Sky Blue hen she is a big framed bird not with a lot of head but nice luckily Greg really likes her Told him I paid $80. but she cost a bit more Clearbody he does look a little bit better than this Greg doesn't like him but I do Lutino cock he really looks much better than this Greg like him , The aboyve 3 burds are from A & J Howes and I was told he uses Gazzard and Loats birds in his line so there is some hope here. Told Greg I paid between $25.00 and $40. for the rest of the birds but the above 3 were much more than that. Sky Cock and I really like this bird he is bred from Gazzard and A Rowe bloodlines so that is really good grey green cinnamon split lacewing, I couldn't work out why I bid on this one until I relised oh yea split lacewing that's why but I didn't relise he was cinnamon and I don't know why I thought he was a girl  but any way Greg doesn't like him. I tried to give him to the boy too but a couple of men told me to keep him because he is from a good breeder with good background and I could get something good out of him . And this is the clear wing **** picture for a **** bird that's him in the background

Count Down
Yes GB he is awful really but when I got home Greg asked Mackley who is only 6 years old which bird he like best and he picked the clear wing and is second best was the sky blue cock so what does Greg know Ha ha Renee I think I will send Geoff to get my one good cock neat time and I will stay home as I am useless  I was sitting out side with Greg last night talking about my new birds and I said I think from now on I will stick with Ian and Heath for my birds when it come to the spangle and he jumped down my neck and he NO you have enough. Gee I thought but he said well you sold so many and now you replaced them and I thought crapp I did. well it was his fault I did sell them not mine. Then he said I sold much better ones that what I bought And he had the cheek to say I did not tell you sell any offspring from the old boy MY WOW bird and I said I didn't but yes I did, As i had no more birds left that I want wanted to part with and this young boy wanted some so I felt bad and so I sold him 2 of my best hens, one from the old boy and the other his granddaughter. Anyway now he says I have to work with what I have and learn to improve them and that I have enough here to breed for a couple of years with out any new birds and I should not of worried about the clear wing or clear body for a couple of yeras either. BUT you know I think he is right. Greg does know what he is talking about. Gee I was looking forwar to another auction but I did line up a breeder to purchase some birds early nexy year. He said he had some now but I need to save all over again. This breeder is a judge and you know what was funny he offered me $500. for my white DF spangle brother to the one Kaz has and my mind was ticking over not because i would take the offer more that I was thinking cricky just sold his his brother for peanuts really compared to that offer when Pete jumped in and said NO Julie and I said no I would never sell him anyway. BUT WHAT AN OFFER. There was this other guy there who I can't remember his name but he said to me that this yellow DF spangle that went for $2000.00 well he siad mine was better and said are you serious . But gee hows that. I really didn't think people took any notice of my birds. So I asked Greg last night to help me next year with my pairing. and he said he might. So that's cool.

Budgies Hatching!
The infection comes from the adults soon after hatching. The adults aquire their infection from contaminated food particularly egg food, contaminated water or rodents and also from new purchased stock. Cleanliness in the aviary is paramount avoiding in particular long delays between cage and flight cleaning. Symptoms The severst and most acute outbreaks are usually in young chicks. The parents may not exhibit the disease. Low hatchability, dead in shell, weak chicks and chicks which "fade" after a few days are all symptoms which suggest salmonella infection. Newly hatched chicks may be small, weak and with loosing droppings. Examine the nest floor as some hens "sit tight" Flatten their young. but if this is a associated with poor hatchability, salmonella in general, should be suspected. Breeders refer to the problem as "yellow Belly" from the appearance of the gut of the baby chick at death. A vet can confirm this. Treatment Must be practised at regular intervals. Ask your ver but I was told what I told you above but I used Pissavet as it is doxycycline but you can't get this unles you go to a vet where is TripleC you can by from some pet shops and veta farm will send it to you also. You should stop breeding and treat all birds.

Budgies Hatching!
It sounds like yellow belly it's an infection carried by the parents you need to treat the parents with a broadspectram antibotic like triple c by vetafarm , you can buy one in the pet shops can't think of the name. I had that earlier in the year and I treated all my birds. google yellow belly in budgies it might come up. But yes with yellow belly they die about one day old . Parents don't normally feed them if they have yellow belly. good luck

Albino
He is really nice Shannon good luck with him. Yesterday all I was after was an Albino hen couldn't get one. But I am going to put my sky blue hen with the Lutino cock and breed my own Albinos

Well I had a good night sleep but still very tied, went out to feed the birds and ckeck ob the new ones and boy are they flighty. There won't be any pictures until they settle. I have them in flight cages 3 in one cage a 2 in the other. okay didn't want to mention this but I got a clear wing and he is disgustion taking him to the pet shop before anyone sees him. Never checked him out before the auction and all the others went for more than I had and I thought this breeder was good but was I wrong because besides being **** with no head and I do no that clear wings are like that but he is bad variety too his wings almost look grey wing. SO I AM REALY EMBARRASSED over bidding for him. When I picked him I thought yuk well I tried to give him away to this kid that was there but no he didn't want him either he asked for my sky bue cock and I said no but in the the end I felt sorry for him so I gave him the other sky blue cock I got because I thought it was a hen dumb me any way the kid only had $20.00 so I said that was okay but I was out of pocket a bit out of the deal. The boy was only about 12yrs and I felt sorry for because he wanted my other sky blue cock. But he was happy in the end and the one he got was a Ross Loats bird. He could of took my clear wing so I didn't have to show Greg Monday I have to face Geoff he will go crook too plus he told me to but one could cock but I am female and couldn't help myself.

Well everyone got home save and sound. Left here at 15 minutes to 4 in the morning and got home 10 past 6 to night very tied. Got lost on the way to the airport because they have so many turn offs so confusing but when I ask for I got a big surprise only 2 ks away the back way. happy then I headed off to Laverton with 2 hours to spare but yes got lost again and frieked out and ask for help, the bloke said go up there 30 meter or so turn right go over bridge and thats Laverton well how easy was that and the venye was around the corner, mind you the turn off for Laverton was a few ks back so missing it turned out easier Oh the worse part was when I left to come home the told me to go back to where the shops were to right at roundabout go down past the shop turn left then your on your way home well :fear I turn onto a 4 lane freeway and thousands of speeding cars and I frieked out stopping of the service raod for emergency only everyone bipping at me and I just didn't know what to do, my haerted was pounding and I thought I was dyingand I froze. when I pulled myself together I went back off to the left high st and no idea where I was going but found my way back to the venue and luckily there were 3 people left and one was Brian Reynolds and he was going my way for aways so I followed him and he pointed to where I needed to turn off and then things were good from there. I swear i really wouldb't taken the turn he told me too. Then the auction well I had and 1 1/2 hours to wait so a nap then found my way to the shope and bought some chocolate , energy . okay auction well it was good I got a few birds but as usual the ones I really wanted were too much but really some were really good prices bit I really didn't have enough money but I did get a acouple nice birds. I tried really gard to get an Albino hen for my clear body but she started at $200. buy that time I only had a $130. left so then I aimed for another hen by a goos breeder and I went all the way $130. but the bloke went $140. I missed out the came Petes Albino cock but that went way over. but still very cheap for a Thurn bird. YES HAD A GOOD TALK TO PT and he is very nice and really friendly. I had a good time. So nay way in the end I got a Lutino cock for my clear body but they are both cocks but thats okay just take a year longer  . Oh year my clear body is yellow I think he is not bad but Greg doesn't like him at all BUT i DO. But I really wanted the grey clearbody he or sge can't remember off hand was really nice but went for over $300. I think. But I did get a really nice big hen and Greg loves her, she does need. more head or rise but I got her for size and power . Pictures soon Kaz those photo of the birds look great. Sorry if my spelling is bad but very tied. :bump:

They didn't tell me sorry I will ask when I drop them off and send you a message, they fly out at 8.30 and I am not sure but I think it is a 5 hour trip, I think that's what my boys told but can't really remember but if that's right they will be there by 10.30 because you are 3 hours behind us. Is that right. Yeh cool idea fly over and we can go to an auction together. that would be fun, tomorrow will be boring because I will be on my own. Oh yeah the next auction I want to go to if I have money is Geelong march the 8th I think but then there are better ones in May. My brother Brian just loan me his GPS thing so now I might not get lost unless it gives me the wrong directions

Kaz what's quinine. Sounds like something to do with horses :fear Foot is not too bad today the more I walk around and the more I pee the better it is :bliss: Flushing it out :fear Thanks Jimmy I should be fine but I really didn't relise that there was a Laverton exit, can't see ot on any of the maps I have ANY one more SLEEP well half a sleep. Greg is already sick to death of my whyning but I call it stress worry, woosy or what ever. Anyway now I have decided tp look at Clear bodies as I have been wanting them for a long time but there are only 2 there tomorrow so if I manage to get one I will need to get an Albino and Lutino depending what colour clear body I get. I am after the grey one but they could be crappy too or they could go for too much in that case I will still look at the clear wings and grey wings. I have my eye on a normal but I think he will go for hundreds and hundreds that leaves me out. Last year some of them went for $2000.00 plus so I have been told

Breeding Outcome Guides
I think it is always exciting seeing what you get, At first I used to be annoyed because I couldn't work out why I got what I got when the tables say 25%, %0% and 25% until Greg came to my rescue and explain it's on average and out of heaps of nest not just that one nest and now I don't care but I do hope sometimes :celebrate: But the light grey cock of A Rowe I bought the the auction early this year was a great edition to my aviary because out of 2 hens he has thrown me 13 or so hens all dark green and 2 cocks light green and 2 cocks cobalt and the best thing is NO cinnamon or opaline so he is not split for anything. It's great having a cock thta is not split :celebrate:

Help Me Work Out The Best Seed Mix
My birds have seed which is what they eat in the wild well sort of , as far as I am concern they are birds and birds eat seed, I find that all vets try to get you onto pellets which I think are not natural and I think they are doing for the companies that make it as they are probably their sponors. A good balanced seed with fruit and veges should be fine. BUT then years ago I had a dog that went skinny as his name was flea and it was a very suitable name for him well any way we could never get weight on him, and back then all aour dos were show dogs and they were fed a home made meat mixture no can ****, they had steak minces with all the additives needed for a healthy dog. All the dogs did well on except for flea. We took him to the vet and discovered he had a heart problem so from there on his diet was boiled rice peas, carrot etc. and believe it or not he scoffed it all down, this little dog was not allowed to eat meat. BUT he was sadly put down a few months later as his heart got worse. Good luck with finding the right mixture

Well the count down is on and I am packing myself :celebrate: with only 2 sleeps to go untill I get up at 3o'clock Saturday morning and head off to the airport. One friend told me 3 hours from here another said 21/2 so I am going for the 3 to be sure and incase I get lost. I am delivering Kaz'z birds. Yesterday i thought I might go to the Laverton Auction but now I am thinking I might just come straight home. I am scared I won't be able to make the trip as I am crook at the moment and please don't laugh but I think I have gout, my foot is as sore as and if it doesn't improve by tomorrow I won't be able to drive the car, didn't sleep a wink last night because of the pain :celebrate: Anyway 2 sleeps to go

Best In Show...df Spangle And Ubc
If a green bird is masking yellow face look under the wing there should be some blue feathers a tell tail sign. I have a light green cock with the deepest yellow colour face and I really thought yellow face but I was told to look under the wing and no he is not yellowface and he has not fathered a yellowface.

A Ladder For My Aviaries
I just hope you like them Kaz, as long as you know they are not my best birds because of course they are still here so far, :raincloud: but the white one is a beauty. :raincloud: It's funny once I started selling them Greg put a big stop to it.. On Saturday once I drop the birds off If I can find my way, I might go and have a look at an auction at Laverton :raincloud: But at the same time I might be that tied I might want to have a sleep.
