Budgie Chick Has No Feet!
if he was missing one foot, or one leg, or could not fly due to a wing injury, then yes, but if ti is missing both feet and cannot stand or perch, is there really a choice here?

Budgie Chick Has No Feet!
No one can tell you what you should do, they can only tell you what your options are or what they would do in your situation. Are you breeding show budgie or pet types. Will he be in cage or an aviary? It will be virutally impossible for him to perch or to live a normal budgie life. He may learn to adapt, but how can he perch to eat seed? He will never be able to mate, how will he perch to drink? These are all questions you have to ask. Personally, I am going to sound like a mean hearted so and so, and I can live with that, but when you think about the life a budgie with no feet is going to have, I am no sure I would let him live.

When Can You Tell?
You can tell once they very first begin to feather up. Spangles - look at the first 2 tail feathers coming through. If they are light and the rest of the them are dark, then you will most probably have a spangle. Pieds - the skin markings are the indicator. Under the feathers, markings on the skin sometimes match the feather markings. So a chick that is pink with dark patches all over is probably going to be pied. Others will add more, but that is just some methods that have worked for me.

How To Get Creaminos?
okay, the best way to gaurantee that you are getting creaminos is this. Breed a male albino with a Yellow faced type 2 blue bird. This will mean that all the hens will be albinos, and they have a 50% chance of being creamino. If the albino bred is the hen, then the male budiges will be split to albino, but the female will not be, so you are guaranteed not to get a creamino. If you use an albino cock and a green hen, all the bird will be green based, so the males will be green birds split ino, and the females will be lutinos.

Hi All, New To The Forum
You have to keep in mind that even young birds will try and breed if they think the opportunity presents itself. If you are going to put nestboxes in the flights, there needs to be twice as many boxes as there are pairs, and there should be no birds under 12 months old in the flight. Simplest way to get around the age thing is that you only put the nestboxes in there every 13 months. have them in there for 1-2 months, then remove them for 13 months. The problem is that birds do not lay on schedule.

He Turned Out To Be A Girl?
I have seen experienced breeders have trouble sexing birds. At the St George show some birds were disaqualified as they had been entered into the wrong category due to their gender. Often happens with males, especially pieds and ino's. I have seen a female entered as a male as she simply had blue on her cere.

Wattle Flights
New pics today of the less full aviary. Some birds are moulting, and some are looking more spectacular than ever before. Wilde - going through a moult Twitch going through a moult - note he has dropped a flight and the replacement is growing back well The blue hen I got from Libby - looking very good Humphrey - still king - size does not grant nobility Nibbler Moulting (blue) and 2 greys Caesar Moulting - a great birds can look poor in photos and when moulting Earl and his lady - I know that opaline to opaline and grey pairs are discouraged, but this is stilla possibility. They are insperable My Henry George Blue (HGB) wants a drink, but some grey bird is hogging the water dispenser. Waiting patiently The clearwings I bought from Nubbly5 in january My Cec Gearing Lute and Wilde sitting lower Boof and his buddy - for spangles, they have good spots. The usual suspects in a line-up Blu and either Dumb or Dumber Dumb and Dumber Dumb or Dumber face on - best shot of him I have ever taken. He has filled out so well. Dumb or Dumber looks so good he has earnt the right to be my new signature.

My New Clearwings
It is funny how we chooe favourites. Some people choose a favourite on how they look, the biggest, the brightest, etc. Me, I am all about personality - due probably to my own supermopdel appearance - I will take Scruffy anyday over the others. Do nto get me wrong, the others are great, but she has the X-factor that stands her apart from others.

Hallo From Quarantine!
I think the first bird is an opaline visual violet dominant pied hen. I think the second bird is an opaline yellow based texas clearbody hen. the tail argument is irrelevant for black or blue here as the texas clearbdy's have a tail that goes from black down to grey, much like the wings. Check out the flights to see what I mean. Great looking birds. I would love to have more hens that looked like that.

He Turned Out To Be A Girl?
It means they are not ready to breed. When the tan starts to show the slightest tinge of tan, then she should is entering the right breeding condition.

He Turned Out To Be A Girl?
Albinos don't follow the blue/brown cere rules. The females will be a white/blue or milky tan color and the males will stay pink. I agree this is a hen, a young, out of condition hen. I am sorry, but I think you are wrong here chrissy. A female albino will go through exactly the same colour changes on a cere that any other hen would, regardless of the mutation. Here cere will start pink with white nostril rings, go white with a small amount of blue, then to tan, then to brown, all depending upon what stage of her cycle she is in. The cere's of male albino's are different, and yes, they will stay a smooth pinkish colour, not go blue.

He Turned Out To Be A Girl?
how old is she? If she is old enough, why no brown cere?
