  1. I was wondering about the crest on its head when I found this picture, thanks for pointing that out. I searched and found that those are full body crested budgies heres a picture of an adult. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v459/ali...emelsblauw1.jpg How strange does it look! I didn't know you could get them.
  2. I'm starting to think that there are very different cases of fether duters because Bubbles picture looked like baby Fluffy, but I found this picture as well. These chicks look alot worse and apear to be younger than Fluffy and the chick from the other forum.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v459/ali...emelsblauw3.jpg
  3. Does anyone know if there can be really different cases in feather dusters? Because Fluffy looks alot better compared to lots of the pictures Iv'e seen of feather dusters. Because Fluffy can stand on a perch and the feathers don't seem to be restricting his movement or eating. That's from the first photos, are the feathers getting longer, thicker?

I'm really sorry about Emma hope her chicks live to carry on her spirit. I had two hens with chicks die at the same time and the dads did a good job ,but i put some millet and a small amount of food in the box for them to nibble on. Unfortunatly they died later from mites same as the two mums. But I couldn't tell why at the time.
  5. I have to agree with Daz and Hath, mainly because of the point Daz made about the guy who wanted to 'breed' out disabilities and diseases. I know lots of people related to others who have relatives that have dieseases or disabilities, and I know that I would be cruel to tell them that they were'nt allowed kids. I have a diesease with unknown causes, but if someone told me i wasnt allowed to have kids cause they might have my diesease I would probably deck them! I have to say it has been breeding season and who doesn't enjoy seeing baby birds? And I think that even if we hadn't domesticated birds mutations such as feather dusters would still turn up. You can't escape it. Also I just showed my friend who is very experiance with breeding all types of birds and I though I would post what he said. Carri
  6. If really really carefully cared for they can last up to a year in better cases.
  7. i thought no to feather duster cause the stuff ive read on them says they get heaps of feathers while still in the nest more than the one now, but still could be ?
  8. Looks a bit like a picture of a feather duster, but I doubt it is.
  9. What a brilliant idea ,I love it! :dbb1:

Hi hope you enjoy the site! Carri
  11. Thanks for that I'm pretty sure I understand now ,I will have to find a nice new bird for him , because all my blue birds are relatives of his. And if I breed a blue opline to him would I still get some like Walford? The search begins for my new birdie
  12. Sorry I'm a little confused, so are there any colours or types that I definently shouldn't breed if I want to re-create this colour/type? Carri
  13. Here is Walford I posted a picture of him a while ago. I can't remember exactly what type was said ,but I think it was said he was a YF type 2 blue. I would really love to breed dome more of these is there a colour or type that I can breed with him to produce more YF Type2's. Keeping in mind that I have been looking for YF Type 2 females for two years and have not been sucessful. Thanks for any help Carri
  14. I while ago I posted this Budgie Breeders Club I not sure if thats exactly how it works but it seems to be because Trill which I ussually feed to my birds went of the shelves for some reason so my breeding birds did not get the best of food and it seems to have worked my 3 surviving babies all apear to be males! I'm very happy

Thats great news I hope they hatch!
  16. I agree with hath I find the females can get a bit annoyed with the babies, and I have had a couple of babies die after being attacked by the female.
  17. I'm glad I can get names from this site, because when I got my two finches and two lovebirds I asked my family for ideas and my 20 year old sister came up with Finchie and Finchette, Lovebird 1 and Lovebird 2. Neither of which I used!
  18. I'm in the hills (belair), I'm also pleased to see another person in Adelaide! :budgiedance:

First things first, are the eggs fertile and do you have other hens to foster the eggs?
  20. Soooo cute! I hope all goes well for both parents and chick/s
  21. So next time leave the oldest one out, and once its eating seed transfer it to the nursery. Thanks
  22. Tebo and his sibling (unamed) keep jumping out the nest. Tebo doesnt have all his feathers yet so i know to put him back in, but the other chick has all its feathers (on body, not sure about flight feathers) and he jumped out today I put him back in ,but next time should I transfer him to the nursery because he is 31 days old? Last time I left a chick wander around the breeding cage for a few days to be weaned, his parents attacked and killed him! I dont want that to happen again.
  23. Here are my two new boys the blue, green and yellow one I've called Coby. So I would love some names for my other newbie! Quarentine is going so slowly So here they are: So what types are my boys
  24. Thanks, just went to check them Tebo atempted to fly and was running around on the bottom, so I just put him back in.
