  1. hi... all babies will be split to blue unless of course if Baby is split to blue herself, which means that you may also get blue babies. Assuming that she isn't split, then yes, all babies will be split to blue. The babies' babies will be blue if they are paired up with a blue bird, or a bird that is split to blue. I hope that all made sense.
  2. Yes you will get all red eyed babies. you'll only get creaminos if there is yellowface gene involved in the pairing. This is possible still if the Albino is in fact a double factor yellowface albino, or the lutino is hiding the yellowface gene. Good luck.

I say go for the taller one if you have the room for it. You two little ones will love you for it. People might say that they don't need the height, but Ihave a cage that dimention, and when I had my budgies in it (before they all went out to the aviary outside), they love zooming from top to bottom and back and forth.. provided of course you don't have too many obsticles in the way of the flight path. And oh welcome.

unfortunately birds will fight till the end, so there's no 'quiet end'. birds will usually live the world with a 'last fight', and then that's the end. so sad. I'm very sorry that your little Winky is going through this, and you have to go through this as well. I recently lost a precious one due to head injury, and I really hated the time right before he died as he was seizing and fitting a lot. I'll thinking of both you and your little Winky.
  5. I have curtains that have little holes in them. I have never had any luck with stopping them from 'attacking' the curtain.. may be someone might have suggestion that works.
  6. awww Dakota is so gorgeous, and what a good girl she is to let you check the nestbox without a 'fight'. :hap:
  7. That is true that it was a direct quote from the article, however the article was actually more or less 'praising' the store, whereas we're not saying much nice thing about this person from that bird store. It is the same as not mentioning any names about bird stores that aren't doing what's best for the birds they have. well that's is in my opinion anyway.
  8. Oh hey guys, as bad as this is, I think it may be in the best interest of the forum for the mods to edit out the name of the bird store involve here. Just a thought. I totally disagree with what's said as well. how can people think and say things like that... ppfffttt.. expert.. yeah sure....
  9. wow, little Spesh's yellow face is soooo brilliant!! gorgeous!! I love stumpy.. Gracie is a bit of a pig, so I don't think you're underfeeding your birdies at all.. hehe.. I'm overfeeding mine.. (Laughing out loud) This is generally her spot in the food dish.. :hap:
  10. haha, you noticed.. hehe.. she hogs the bowl of seeds... literally hops in the middle of it, and everyone else stands on the edge... hehe
  11. yeah, I brought the little booger home... she nailed me a few times getting her to the quarantine cage, but after that she's been a little angel.. no biting, just a little wiggling whenever I catch her to do a thorough check through her physical conditions. here she is... Gracie.
  12. Looks spangle to me.. especially that first picture. and also he has spangle clear tailfeathers. oh and even if he is only a dilute, and not dilute spangle, you'll still get 50% spangle, and 50% normal chicks. but I'm still saying that he is spangle as well.

oh, I see... in my aviary, I've used sisal rope, and my budgies have managed to chew through it.. hehe... but that's okay, it doens't leave stringy bits like you said about the cotton, so no risk of my little ones feet getting tangled in it, or even worse, their little neck...
  14. Cheeta replied to Zebra's topic in Cage Discussion
I personally would choose hemp over cotton rope. Not sure what Flax is, so I can't comment.
  15. awww, look at them all.. they look great!!! Poor little Spesh... so tiny next to those giants... hehe... so adorable.

well done Elly. it is a white bellied sea eagle. gorgeous creatures they are.
  17. Cheeta replied to *Nerwen*'s topic in Competitions
Close Elly, but no, not a hawk. Here's a picture of the same bird but not flying anymore.
  18. Cheeta replied to *Nerwen*'s topic in Competitions
Nope, sorry. Hint.. it's a type of Raptor.
  19. hmm interesting. Is that the name for it as well in the 'non show' world?? just wondering. I don't know anything about the black eye self.. hehe.
  20. Yep, my little Spirit is an 'odd eyed' pied too.. hehe.. he's a little charmer. And as with both dom pied and recessive pied showing, that's not possible since they use the same allele, whereas you can get spangle (dominant gene) and recessive pied showing together as they use different alleles so therefore it is possible to show up together.

Thanks. Here's my picture. if you need a 'non flying' picture of this bird, please let me know, but it should be fairly easy.
  22. I dont see the spangle marking at all... And besides, how does DF spangle work? I thought it would mask the cinnamon.. or does cinnamon works similar in DF spangle and Inos where it shows up on top of the masking effect?

Is it just me, or does Vinnie has a funny posture/stance?? They are both gorgeous!!
  25. Yes I've heard of them, and my understanding as as explained by Norm and Nerwen. the only one that I haven't heard of before today is Laurel budgie...
