I give my birds the crusts from my sandwich on the weekends. There is never any left over.
  4. Boris says thanks for the kind comments. Then she bit me on the lip!
  5. Queen Boris says Hiya Phoebe! I look good don't I? Enjoying some music. Would I lie to you? ooo what's this? Mummy! I'm scared of the ugly Meatdish! Make him go away! I'm leaving! I've gotta go, gotta go!!!!!!! She'll never find me up here! After she came down she did the ole fake "I can't fly, you're just gonna have to pick me up!" which of course being the good mummy, I did! I'd do anything for love.
  6. I got them for $15 each. Would have liked a lotto win to afford the violets! :(Laughing out loud):
  7. I went off to the Ipswich Bird Show today, I couldn't believe I only bought 2 budgies! There were some magnificent violets there but the $150 per budgie price tag was out of my price range. :ausb: I actually spent twice as much on bird food today as I spent on birds! Anyway these are the boys: Boys Posing - they loved the camera!
  8. Not sure of her age. I'd guess 3-6 months as she has her iris rings.
  9. Size is fine for me.

Welcome to the forum! It's great you found us, you won't find a better budgie forum anywhere!
  11. Gorgeous birds all of them!
  12. Elly, I can see the mum is Opaline, can't see the dad. All the babies are beautiful!
  13. That's what I reckon Kaz!
  14. I decided to test to see if BooBoo is tameable. I found out she definately is! After she went berserk flying around the house and wore herself out I picked her up and sat down to watch telly. She crawled into the sleeve of my jumper and over the next half hour crawled further and further into my jumper sleeve and into my armpit! Just as well I'd just had a shower! Anywy, after about another 15 minutes I lost track of her! I felt all up & down my sleeve, my armpit, my neck, shoulder. Darn! I thought maybe she'd climbed out and down inside the chair! I started to panic, I'm sure I hadn't moved so I couldn't have squashed her! Then I heard a cheep so I jumped up looked all round the chair, threw the cushions off, felt down the chair - n BooBoo! So in desperation I pulled off my jumper - she wasn't on the back. Dropped the jumper on the chair, heard a flutter and there's BooBoo curled up in a fold in the back of the jumper! I must have searched it 4 times without any luck! I'm going to have to keep an eye on her - she hides good! :(Laughing out loud):
  15. I was kinda thinking she was a TCB, I've only ever seen them on the computer screen. Have to say I fell for her first & her mutation second! She was irresistable and sang throughout the shopping centre & on the drive home! :(Laughing out loud):
  16. She is and she is due to come back inside this week! I am so excited as her reintergration into the household is progressing alot smoother this time round.
  17. The tip is to clip the longest flights, not the shorter ones. 2 on each side and Boris could still get into trouble, 3 on each side & she can save herself from harmful falls but not get into trouble.
  18. I could never give my Boris up, she's as tame as any male budgie.

I've got a cleared spot for you to come and build one for me.
  20. I was shopping with my parents today and just popped into the pet store for a look - see this shopping centre has only been open 2 months and I have to make sure that the birds are healthy! :angel1: Anyway, as I was just making sure that all the birds were happy & healthy (they were) this hen kept coming up to the wire and chortling to me! She was making the sweetest sound and before long she was nibbling my nose. By golly that bird hypnotised me into buying her!!! Well, we all love her already! She's so beautiful! Please, what is her mutation? She's going through a little moult at the moment. She's a little bit olive on her back below the wings and her colour is sort of a mustard colour and not as rich as the photo's look.
  21. Birds sneeze like we do for various reasons. My Boris has a disturbing habit of coming in for a kiss and then sneezing in my face!! Give the medication time to work first, I'd give it a week.
  22. Romeo is gorgeous! Heck, they are all gorgeous! :hap:
  23. Nice birds!
  24. I really enjoyed your pics Jen! Thanks for sharing them.
