Doofus & Boris Playing
I often wonder how little Doofus is doing. It may look like it but her wings weren't clipped - she was a "special" bird . I gave her to a family's kids who wanted their own bird to love. Pity they didn't keep in touch.

Mr & Mrs Whistler (bourke's Parrot)
Eldest 2 bubs fledged late yesterday afternoon just before I got home. Wondered why I suddenly had 4 bourke's flying around their cage. I love watching the fledglings and their parents interact with each other outside the nestbox. Their parents care so much! When one falls, one of the parents races down to them to check them over. So beautiful!

Need To Clean My Aviary
She will usually sit after around the 5th egg is laid - that's what mine used to do. LOL except the time she laid 33 and still didn't sit on any!

Just Bought An Air Con-
Yeah I remember, you guys got all the stinking hot weather Queensland normally gets over summer. Thanks By The Way, it was nice not have a melt everyday before lunch!

Need To Clean My Aviary
oh yeah they fight like anything! Even a second female introduced could soon find herself all bloodied & featherless. I was lucky with my first pair, bred well and were good parents. Then a magpie got my female when she got out and I'd almost caught her.

Just Bought An Air Con-
I couldn't live without air-con anymore, we got our unit about 6-7 years ago and it gets a good workout every year. Hey MB, thought it didn't get hot in Melbourne?

Mr & Mrs Whistler (bourke's Parrot)
Oh My Goodness! Aren't they the cutest? I placed a bub in mums hand yesterday and she couldn't get over how noisey they are! Reckons they are way noisier than budgie bubs!

Childbirth At 65
With all the new technology regarding fertility recently, a 65-year-old friend of mine was able to give birth. When she was discharged from the hospital and went home, I went to visit. 'May I see the new baby?' I asked 'Not yet,' She said 'I'll make coffee and we can visit for a while first.' Thirty minutes had passed, and I asked, 'May I see the new baby now?' 'No, not yet,' She said. After another few minutes had elapsed, I asked again, 'May I see the baby now?' 'No, not yet,' replied my friend. Growing very impatient, I asked, 'Well, when can I see the baby?' 'WHEN HE CRIES!' she told me. 'WHEN HE CRIES?' I demanded. 'Why do I have to wait until he CRIES?' 'BECAUSE I FORGOT WHERE I PUT HIM, O.K.?'

Broken Wing!
He'll breed if (you want him to and) given the opportunity, a broken wing doesn't stop them. I had a budgie named Squirt - she was a fantastic pet so if the name suits him he will be too! got any pics for us?

Breeding in Ken's Aviary
Ours usually do two clutches each season so you may be okay once she is well. I sure hope so. I promised the lass who gave me Monty (her mothers bird actually) a baby Princess for when she moves into her own house. Not sure yet if I will get any handraised (except hers) as even aviary bred and raised ones are lovely. Is there a way to sex them young? ie: does the head shape stay the same etc?

Breeding in Ken's Aviary
He's very handsome! I finally got a female Princess on Saturday. Unfortunately the meeting with Monty has to wait as she is undernourished and had an eye infection. I am treating both so maybe I'll be able to breed them this season yet!

Mr & Mrs Whistler (bourke's Parrot)
That's actually a new egg, I threw out the other dud egg so looks like they are starting again - I just hope the new chicks don't hatch before these ones fledge.

Mr & Mrs Whistler (bourke's Parrot)
3 hatched chicks, last egg infertile. They are finding their voices too, after about 3 minutes of holding them they started complaining - loudly so under the watchful eye of Whistler I put his babies back in their box (got a thank-you whistle from Whistler). Here are their Royal Cutenesses:
