Getting A New Bird!
If you are finding you ever need another in the future, Parrot Rescue Centre on the Gold Coast have corella's, cockatoo's and galah's all looking for good homes. A small donation is necessary and they won't let you adopt if they don't think you are suitable - they question you etc.

Boris Fans Attention
Yes, definitely ! We have decided not to house her and Sam next to each other as Boris was a disruptive influence on Sam. Since she was outside in the breeding cabinet, Sam has turned into a lovely bird and kisses and cuddles all the time. When he and Boris were next to each other there was alot of jealousy and Sam especially had turned into a monster biter. They will be kept separate and brought out of their cages for play times separately too.

Boris Fans Attention
I thought I'd update especially for the Queen Boris BBC Fan Club members :rip: Boris has been taken out of the breeding cabinet after her failed clutch and is in her normal house cage. To acclimatise her back into the household she is outside the kitchen window which is one of the busiest in the household. She is spoken to through the window about 30 times daily and since she was put in there on Saturday she has come along in leaps and bounds. She comes up to the wire, has stopped her savage biting and only nibbles and plays now. She is also starting to "chat" to us again. At this rate she will be inside the house having a fly around on Saturday after my cage cleaning chores. She is doing really well and we are all happy with her progress. More updates to come.

Breeding in Ken's Aviary
The last one is nice. I found out from my bird dealer awhile ago there is actually 6 mutations of Palehead Rosella's. Mine are slightly different to the last photo, see here: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b234/kar...leheadPairA.jpg Adelaide Rosella's are nice: http://www.trevorsbirding.com/adelaide-rosella/

Breeding in Ken's Aviary
Congratulations on all the breeding. I love gouldian babies, especially when they bob and weave when they see. Pair I had hatched 2 chicks and they were so cute. My Princess hen might not ever lay for me, she's got a bung hip but still begs Prince who only wants to dance to her and us. Going to sell my Paleheads as I reckon the male just isn't mature enough this year even though he's 2.

My Mad Dash To The Doctor
oh boy! I have seen on those emergency medical shows people getting critters stuck in their ears! I can only imagine (not too hard though *shivers*) what you must have gone through. Probably scary as much as painful too I'd imagine. Makes me paranoid. So much so I was half asleep the other night and thought something was tickling my left ear and promptly whacked myself in the head! I can tell you I didn't sleep the rest of the night . . .

Snakes On A Plane
I must have a thing for bad movies, I loved Lake Placid. Haven't seen the second one though. I agree Anacondas (2nd) was bad - gave that DVD away! I guess saying Boa V Python must have sounded better than Python V Python! Saw one a few years ago about a giant Boa about 120 foot long! That was pretty bad.

Could Someone Identify Her Please?
Well she will try for a photo, aparently she is out and doing laps so can't be caught yet. This is what she has said: "I can tell you it's very very pale yellow under her wings though. Barely any colour under there at all. She seems to have less blue on her now too. I guess maybe she is moulting those out??"

Snakes On A Plane
I enjoyed that movie - I even bought it on DVD. Nothing can be as bad as Boa V Python! Now that is a heck of a bad movie!

Could Someone Identify Her Please?
I will ask the lass if she can either get a picture or check. Might not be until tonight or tomorrow (Oz time) as she is in the UK.

Could Someone Identify Her Please?
erm, so are we at a stalemate as to whether she's YF2 or not? I don't understand about the body colour - green or blue? She's got both colours on her body. I didn't know a bird can be green and blue at the same time, I thought they had to be one or the other? Wouldn't mind her in my aviaries that's for sure! The lass who own's this bird disliked budgies until about 2 weeks ago when 2 "landed in her lap" during a cockatiel purchase and this one was "following her" around the pet store. So not fair!

Could Someone Identify Her Please?
A friend of mine has asked me to seek identification for this lovely bird. I've started that she's a Dominant Pied but there are blue feathers though her belly. http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/5695/img1353qh6.jpg . .

Mr & Mrs Whistler (bourke's Parrot)
Roughly the same size - although they do look bigger with the fuzz. Mum doesn't mind me handling them, before the box was back on the shelf she was sitting. I love Bourke's, they make great parents.

Did You Know Eagles Mate For Life?
Well one day Harry the eagle waited at the nest for Mary, his darling of 10 glorious years. After a while when she didn't return he went looking and found her. She had been shot. Dead! Harry was devastated, but after about six minutes of mourning he decided that he must get himself another mate but since there weren't any lady eagles available he'd have to cross the feather barrier. So he flew off to find a new mate. He found a lovely dove and brought her back to the nest. The sex was good but all the dove would say is 'I am a DOVE, I want to love! I am a DOVE, I want to love!' Well this got on Harry's nerves so he kicked the dove out of the nest and flew off once more to find a mate. He soon found a very sexy loon and brought her back to the nest. Again the sex was good but all the loon would say is, 'I am a LOON, I want to spoon! I am a LOON, I want to spoon!' So out with the loon. Once more he flew off to find a mate. This time he found a gorgeous duck and he brought the duck back to the nest. This time the sex was great, but all the duck would say was..... (scroll down) . . . . No, the duck didn't say THAT  .... Don't be SO disgusting!! . The duck said, 'I am a DRAKE You made a MISTAKE' !!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh, Spring Time
Liv, thank your husband for me? I can't say those names so will stick to cactus! Deb, your correct about the Bromeliad, we've got a number of them - they are great rain catchers. After the flowers start dying off, pull them out of the ground and divide them - you'll see new shoots, these are called "pups". Each pup will have it's own roots and can be planted and next season they will flower and restart the cycle. They are truly an amazing plant! :bliss:

Bourke Parrots
Do you have a good budgie hen mother? I would give the eggs to the budgie. Earlier this year I had to put a week old Red Rump chick in with a pair of budgies. They looked after her until she was 4 wks old but she was ill which I gather was why her Red Rump parents abandoned her. Budgies are good fosters, as long as the eggs are with them for awhile it's fine. I even put a quail egg in with a budgie hen once as an experiment - she hatched it and the chick was perfect! Very funny watching a quail chick run around a nest box with the budgie hen trying to pull it under her. Unfortunately that's the only advice I can offer, all my Bourke hens have been good mothers.

Ahhh, Spring Time
I reckon cacti has some of the most magnificent blooms around. The first cactus is a gift from the neighbours - theirs grew to over 40 foot tall and they had to lop it down, it flowered bloomin great! Pity they had to chop it down - it was over their sullage pit so they had to clear it. Don't know what any are called though.
