  1. Those piks are so cute they would make great greeting cards if captioned
  2. Just a word of caution...having had tragic experinces myself with my birds and known of many birds hung by threads any longer than two inches seeing longer lengths of string or cord fills me with dread....please cut them shorter or rethink the longer pieces
  3. Pet stores will not give out any breeder details Budgie_Mad as they make their profit on top of what a breeder sells the budgies to them for ...so they wont tell you anything
  4. this topic has been split from another persons topic ....so bumping it up for Owen

Looks great Before you begin please read this topic on colony breeding as you may want to use the aviary space for a fun place to be ( no nestboxes ) and just remove some to breeding cages at an appropriate time for safer more trouble free breeding Topic ..... http://forums.budgie...showtopic=28294 cheers kaz I LOVE your aviary
  7. Gold ring is 2012
  8. Green is dominant ....paired to a blue you will only get greens unless the green budgie once had a blue parent ( called being split for blue )
  9. The blind is a good idea but you can also extend the front roofline out by adding extra roof sheeting...so you sort of create a verandah section and less chance of rain getting in ....which also helps
  10. Hi Flip there could be a kidney infection going on which can affect feeling in his feet ....I suggest a course of antibiotic as well as some calcivet and see how he is in a week or so
  11. please post a pik so we can help you sex your budgie. the info out there on the net about nostrils is the most misleading info ever when it comes to sexing budgies. if its a baby female the cere will be an overall white not just nostrils....and if a male the cere will be a pinky purple
  12. it may not have been fed by parents....all dead babies look squished by the time you find them but rarely do they die from being squashed...its just a natural assumption we make when we find a flattened dead baby
  13. **KAZ** replied to Nadene's topic in Breeders Discussion
if one dies then the other does too due to contamination from the dead embryo
  14. Cream puff is a very cute little boy
  15. tommybudgie98 I had to take your posts into a topic of its own as thats how it should be not added into anothers topic...where it was actually getting lost and unanswered....so maybe now it will get attention How old are they ? you dont just add a nestbox without knowing their age, breeding condition and preparing well in advance re diet and your own personal knowledge of breeding ////can you add some more info please ?
  16. the hen isnt in breeding condition based on what you have said about the cere. The mistake many people make is thinking dark brown and crusty is breedng condition when in fact at that stage its tailing off breeding condition and at the stage where the dark brown peels off to reveal the white blue underneath of a hen not in breeding condition. I suggest removal of the nest box and wait till his cere is bright cobalt blue and hers is medium biscuitty brown ( not dark and not crusty ) and be sure also that they arent moulting or about to moult if ever in doubt post clear cere photos
