  1. solution :bump: This chick appears to be a violet greywing feathers are colouring up to be lavender colour.......pale purple
  2. Search the forum as we have heaps of this info already here to be found :bump: as above Important Announcement: Interested in advertising on our site? Take a look here. Before Posting a New Topic...please take time to browse the forums using the search function and look in our FAQ section....the question you are about to ask may already have been answered and available to read.
  3. Based on what you have said she does seem to have a problem. I would not breed her if I was you :bump:
  4. 208 LOTS. IT WILL STILL BE GOING MOST LIKELY :bump:
  5. Hard to say. Females always bicker over space on perches...they are territorial. Anytime you see biting at each other on a perch its usually female to female behaviour. Worse when moulting...they get crankier. Check your cage size and perching arrangements and see if that may be the cause.
  6. Topic closed now as we are not a tiel forum.
  7. Water hangs up at the end where the perches are Seed is on a platform and the floor
  8. Info in initial post seems to indicate ongoing issue not a one off night fright.
  9. They will produce eggs but often when out of condition and on eggs they lose interest in the eggs, lose interest in chicks, may attack their cock and get nasty and grumpy and bitey and in most cases need fosters for back ups to relieve the hen of her duties. Its just not worth the aggravation to try at this stage. My opinion only.
  10. Red ringer ? Remember the blue rings came into use 1st September last year so your red ringer may well be old enough to breed.
  11. French moulters often have trouble growing in new flight feathers. They break off and bleed just like yours is doing. I would say ...yes she is.

  14. Better photo needed
  15. Light conditions arent too good on that photo Liv But maybe a boy
  16. My smaller aviary I used while building the bigger aviaries was a seed husk floor. What i noticed was more chance of sickness with the seed debris on the floor, and also wastage of seed was higher than a clean concrete floor. Also some hens liked to nest in it. I wouldnt do it again. and MOTHS !!
  17. If they are dry porridge oats, allow them to get warm and you can lift the eggs with a spoon, put the oats in and replace the eggs all in one movement quickly while she is out of the nest. Do you have a spare room you can put the cage in away from the cats ? All this based on your concern about keeping them warm
  18. Have you any nestbox materials in the nestbox....you can use dry porridge oats or flaky bran.....less chance of them tossing it out Is the cage inside the house ?
  19. You are colony breeding and thats the hardest way to breed budgies. They can fight over nestboxes, smash eggs raid each others nestbox and kill chicks just when you are getting delighted about having chicks. If you have any budgies in the aviary under 12 months you will be forcing them to breed too young. No budgies under 12 months should be anywhere that nestboxes are. Something to think about
  20. I saw only one person say YF and all others said opaline cinnamon grey green not yellowface. I would say not YF. Why did you choose that pairing ?
  21. He is a white double factor spangle with suffusion.
  22. sorry ........was busy trying to do too many things at once
  23. He seems to have width above the cere and some directional feather. he has backskull. His mask is a little short and his stance is bad. You forgot to mention he is cinnamon too. I wouldnt put him to that hen. What else do you have ?
  24. Chuck out the pine shavings and put seed in there Patrick
