Hi and welcome :hap: I love sheep and ducks. They are so cute
  2. There are some trees that look like eucalypts but arent. Crush the leaves up with your fingers you can usually smell it. Mine don't like salmon gums which are everywhere here but the more 'normal' eucalypt/gums they love. Also get saltbush, seeding bushes, spinifex. The wild mulga parrots love a certain type of bush towards the end of the year- still not sure why its a weird spiky bush!! (saltbush, seeding bushes, spinifex) - I've never heard of these . I think I would need a latin name, so I could ask for them. But I don't really think I can get them here. They sell eucalyptus here, because people use it for respiration problems, etc. I think the branch I got from the zoo is not eucalyptus
  3. It started the day before yesterday. I wasn't home yesterday, so I can't tell if she did it the whole day, but she did it yesterday evening. But today she looks okay, singing, eating. She definately doesn't look like a sick budgie. I didn't see her vomit yet. Maybe I didn't describe it right, it looked like she was getting the food out of her crop (like when they feed each other - but she didn't feed any other budgie), then she swallowed it back, sometimes she shaked her head and the seeds were spraying around. I just got scared, I've read about a crop infection - that the bird would vomit in this case too. But maybe it's not vomiting what she's doing I'll see if she'll do it today (I'm home the whole day) and if she does, I'll take her to the vet.
  4. One of my hens looks like she is vomiting, then she swollows it back. She wasn't trying to feed another budgie. She is a bit dirty on her head, but she is cleaning herself. I have her separated now and I gave her some weak camomile tea. She eats, drinks, and doesn't have any other problem. I called my avian vet and she said that the budgie could just be in a breeding mood, so I should wait for 1-2 days and if it doesn't get better, I should bring her in. Has anyone ever had a similar problem? Is there something I could feed her or give her to drink to make her feel better? She eats millet and celery and she seems to be okay Thanks for any advice
  5. Looks great. I would love pictures too please

I have hen, who has eaten too much of sand and had to go to the vet. So I only give my budgies sand sometimes and not much.
  7. I have time . No I'm just trying to grow it. I'm also going to buy a couple of them

She is beautiful and looks really calm and happy
  9. My husband and I went to a zoo today and I found a eucalyptus tree there, I think (at the elephants, so it smells like elephants ). So I took a small branch and I'm trying to grow it. But I'm going to buy a couple of small trees from the shop I found yesterday - I hope they are safe eucalyptus'. I'll try to find out. Do the eucalyptus branches you have in Australia have strong eucalypty smell? The one I got from the zoo doesn't smell eucalypty and it was leaking white sticky liquid of the stick I got. Do you think it's eucalyptus? (I'm not going to give it to my birds till I'm sure it's safe)
  10. I just found this post. I'm trying to get Eucalyptus tree to grow for my budgies. I used to have one (long time ago), but now I can't find it in any shop . Can you buy Eucalyptus tree seeds in Australia? I'm thinking about ordering some maybe if I don't find it here. I hope it would grow here (inside maybe) Did someone already found out which kinds are safe for budgies? I've looked, but can't find it. And is gum tree and eucalyptus tree the same tree? okay, I did find one place, which sells them. They have 3 kinds, do you know any of them? Eucalyptus camaldulensis Eucalyptus globulus Eucalyptus gunii okay , I actually googled the first type and it's the one I'm looking for I think http://www.anbg.gov.au/cpbr/WfHC/Eucalyptu...nsis/index.html
  11. Yes, I think I will try to make a list for the new owners with some info about the budgie, some photos, the food he's used to, my telephone number, and so on. Hope it's going to work. Bacause I would rather keep all my babies then give them to someone who would have them in a small cage, with no flying, no toys, ...

The last baby boy is gorgeous Daz
  13. The last link works. I think she is just "having fun" . Budgies do it often I guess :(Laughing out loud):
  14. Thank a lot , I hope I will be able to make the right decision when it comes to this
  15. Bubbles, how do you choose new owners for your budgies? I mean people you don't know. Did you actually told someone no, because you didn't think they would take care of them well? I'm just wondering. I think I will hate giving my babies to someone I don't know (if I breed later)

She has sooooo beautifull color I think it's female too, what about Jimie? I have female called Tim (Timie), she's supposed to be male . I have actually more females with male names - Tim, Mig, Joda
  19. They are all pretty as always In the two first photos the baby in the front left looks like he/she is trying to show off (very pretty) (I actually can't wait to breed some of my budgies. Just a couple of months and we can move to our new house (it's taking ages ), we will build 2-3 new aviaries directly after the kitchen and bathroom I can't wait. For now I'm studying books about handfeeding, etc., so I'm ready just in case )

They are both very pretty. You are such a good person to take all the birdies home :angel1: . Harry looks really good, great job on raising him/her. I would be really afraid to handfeed.
  22. I found a website, they talk about liquid calcium plus - you can even order it there (on the bottom of the page on the left). There is phone number, you can call the lady and ask where to get this. (I'm not sure if this is a good make, but it's in US, so it could be easier to get for you) Here is the link http://www.ladygouldianfinch.com/features_calcium.mgi Hope this helps Good luck with your babies, it's really not nice to see a budgie with splayed legs. In one pet shop here they tried to sell one (I didn't know it's splayed legs at the time), but I let them know they must take the budgie to the vet, luckilly they did.I don't know what happened to this budgie thought. The budgie looked very sad, he was just sitting on the bottom of the cage eating the seeds from the floor. He couldn's do anything just sit. It was really sad Hope you'll give your babies treatment in time, so it doesn't happen to them
