Thanks Norm, I feel it's getting better . My husband even cooks for me sometimes - the food always tastes better when someone else cooks
  4. They are very cute . Once you start with budgies, you can't stop :(Laughing out loud): - I have the same problem
  5. We've just come back from the vet and Ernie has had his wings clipped. The vet seemed pretty sure it was a boy, as she said that the cere was too blue to be a girl. However, she said that sometimes it still can turn brown as the budgie gets older, so for now its Ernie until it goes brown... Last night he was also warbling to himself for a few minutes. Do females talk to themselves or is it just the males? I'll try and get some more photos up over the weekend. Cam I'm not sure if they talk to themselves - I think they do. I have more budgies, and even the females chat with the rest. But I don't know if single female would do the same

Thank you Denise. I feel like eating sometimes (not often), but I feel like raspberries, etc. So I don't think this sort of food is enough to eat . But I'm trying to buy things I like and tell myself "I'm hungry" But it's getting better - I eat more and more......

You have to write words with more then 4 letters - so try to search for rings or bands (without leg). I found some posts leg rings I think some people put the ring on at the age of 5 - 7 days
  8. Hi, I would make sure they have somewhere to hide from the sun - I would put a cloth over part of the cage. But I don't know how hot it gets over there, so maybe wait for someone from Australia. And watch out for some birds of pray who could try to attack them.

Don't worry Zebra, I only put on a small amount of weight with all 5 of my pregnancies. With the last one I only put on 1kg and when my son was born he was 5.050kg (11pound 2oz). The baby takes it's nutrients from your storages so don't worry the baby won't be going without. Thanks , I hope everything will be okay. I just don't feel like eating (and that's not normal for me) and my sister who is pregnant as well is eating the whole day long
  10. It almost made me cry - it's written very well :angel1: Thanks for posting it
  11. Very nice photos - your budgies are super cute !!!
  12. Hello I think it's a girl, but I'm not 100% sure. Do you have a picture without flash? It's a baby, I would say a couple of months old and very pretty

Nothing new, I'm going for check up on the 19.11 and on the 27.11 for some big check up (where I can get a DVD with my baby ). And they might be able to tell me if it's a boy or a girl I feel better now, I only feel sick if I eat or drink in the morning before we drive to work . But I'm a bit worried about my weight - I should already have like 5kg more and I don't (18.week). Last time the doctor's scale actually showed one kilo less - so I hope the baby gets some nutritions. Thanks for asking
  15. I will try, thanks
  16. They cannot dig under. It's very thick wooden floor and we will probably put another wooden flooring on it (the floating kind, you put in kitchen, etc. - not sure what it's called). I think they will be easier to clean. The mice get in through the bottom of the mesh. We wanted to put some wood around the bottom mesh, but I think they would climb on it anyway. I will look for some tin sheets, that sounds good. Or I'm thinking about some roofing to put on the sides - the see through kind of roofing - some of them could be slipery enough, so the mouse cannot climb up - I will see.
  17. Yes she is very good for catching mice . That's very good idea with the cotton, thanks. I will try it.
  18. Thanks for reply Norm It sounds very depressing, but it's true. They are cheeky little things, we tried lots of things, but the best seem to be "normal" traps. Not for all mice, but most of them get caught. Some mice actually eat the cheese and the trap stays opened - no idea how they do it . But yesterday we got some new kind - it looks the same, but it should catch the mouse as soon as the mouse touches the trap, so we will see. I spoke to a breeder the other day and he has a mice problem too, so I guess as long as there are seeds, there will be mice too We've made feeding platforms in the new indoor aviaries, so I'm hoping the birds won't go to the bottom so much. And I'm going to sweap tho aviary floor as often as possible, so the mice don't have a reason to go there, I hope it helps We also have 2 dogs and they killed a couple of mice already, which is cool. We are thinking about getting a cat, but as I'm pregnant now, I'm worried about a cat (I've heard they can be dangerous for pregnant and small kids)
  19. I was wondering, do you think budgies can get some illness from mice? We have mice in our house and trying to get rid of them - but it's not very easy, they are very cheeky and don't want to get caught But we got new type of traps and still trying (first I got the kind of traps that don't hurt the mouse, but they don't work at all, so we have to kill them ) I could see the mice in the aviaries on the bottom eating the seeds from the floor. Do you think there is an illness that budgies could catch from mice? Thanks

  23. :(Laughing out loud): He was actually coming to help us with fixing our house - he came over 2 weeks ago and did our kitchen floor and roof. But he didn't know about aviaries . But no worries - we can do it !!! It just needs a net and the doors and it's done Hopefully I'll take photos this weekend
