  1. UPDATE: Shes got 5 eggs! 4 are beige The thing is the only time i saw Chico mate 'successful' to me, i counted 9 days from when shes lay the eggs in which i thougth they mated protperly, and it was egg 5. So... the last eggs she layed was #5, and its white. Hopefully this one will be fertile as the mating i saw 9 days before this egg was delivered looked the best so far (as in his tail semi reached near her vent)... Here arenew piccies of Chico standing guard You gotta get through me before you get my wife and eggs you big monster (hes scared of the camera ) http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...29/MVC-006F.jpg Whoa! IM THE KING OF THE WORLD!!!! http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...29/MVC-008F.jpg Kirby
  2. New piccies! What shes done in her nest... http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...29/MVC-009F.jpg Belle about to go in, Kirby singing, me being nosey http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...29/MVC-011F.jpg Arent i a cutey pie? Um oh yea, you to hunny... http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...29/MVC-007F.jpg Kirby
  3. I got a new cage today (same as the one Chico and Ariel are in) and put Kirby and Belle into it beside Chico and Ariel with a bristol board between them as a divider becuase Kirby will forget about Belle and flirt with Chico through the bars. Im so happy becuase i look like a real breeder now! Big flight cages, then 'rows' of the same cages with nesting boxes awaiting arrival of babies Belles ben mor einto the nest box recently. Remember how i though she was just playing inside of it, but not for the right reasons i guess im wrong! Shes been in it a lot before i moved them this morning, but now all day shes been in the box once in the new cage. She attacked me when i moved the nest box over to the new cage and i was bleeing for a good 30min with 3 scars now from a lil budgie (Laughing out loud). Kirbys singing like NUTS currently, and all i hear is 'pitter patter scrape, scratch, bang scratch pitter' from Belles moving around and diggin in the nest. The nest has been on about 7 or 8 days now... and her cere is a nice dark wood colour (as you can see from the pics taken 2 weeks back she just finished a gorgeous moult and shes in great shape). Kirbys cere is bright blue like always (Laughing out loud), but his plumage is GORGEOUSLY radiant and shinny!!!! So im hopeing for eggs any day now, hopefully fertile ones, which i bet they will be as Kirby has GREAT balance as he started practising at age 5 months with Belle when she was right oput of quaranteen... Will keep you posted, and am going to take new pics soon of my breeding layout(s) Kirby
  4. EWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Id die if i found that YUCK!!!! Oh no Kazza! Sorry about Cricket Poor thing... hope shes better... And like the name Oscar Kirby
  5. Nathan. replied to Riebie's topic in Cage Discussion
How perfect Riebie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I looked at the EXACT same cage as a breeding cage, but it was MASSIVE in person... and got another instead (Laughing out loud). HEY!!!! Why dont you go get the same one for the future tiel? Perfect for them, and for $60 cant go wrong even if you dont have money for food the next week :ausb: (Laughing out loud) Kirby
  6. Well im going to keep some yf spangles when Emma and Oscar breed, not to mention one of Chico and Ariels babies as Chico's parents were my first pet, so i want to keep a baby with their genetics all my life thorughout my flock... Ive sold in the newspaper and 8 babies were gone in 28 minutes of the paper being out, and i also sold to a petshop, but i got less money, and didnt like not knowing who baught them... So i am going to sell privatly from now on, much better trust me. Whens your 1st pair up Shawna? Belles been in nest box all day, Kirbys been out singing, but im off to our cottage now until Sunday night... I do still have the computer though (laptop)... Kirby
  7. HAHA Your right!' Oh i thoguht i resized them good enough? guess not :glare: I just do 75% of origional image in photobucket... Thats was Bubbles does and hers are fine...? Belles be in the nest a lot today (Well so far, lastnight and this morning). If shes not in it, then Kirby is.... Everytime i go near the cage, she jumps in it (she doesnt like me that much, my least tamest bird i have) so its not usualy for her to hide, but i like how shes comfotable with the box and its only been 2 days... not even Kirby
  8. Trust me i will! ps- I just noticed i made the title wrong :fear I mean Surge not Purdge* My bad (Laughing out loud) Kirby
  9. Thanks Mate! Not like i forced you to reply or anything (Laughing out loud) Cheers :fear Kirby

  11. New pis of them. She layed her 2nd egg 30 minutes ago... http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...22/MVC-003F.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...22/MVC-002F.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...22/MVC-005F.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...22/MVC-008F.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...22/MVC-014F.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...22/MVC-015F.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...22/MVC-016F.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...22/MVC-017F.jpg Enjoy! Kirby
  12. Hey guys! Here are some pics of 5 minutes ago... http://s38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...y/group22/?sc=5 Theres Chico and Ariel on their 2 eggs so far (layed second 30 minutes ago), then Kirby and Belle in another cage seperated to breed and they are starting to investigate the nest box A LOT (Laughing out loud) They were put in the cage with the nest box yesterday... And theyve been flirting like mad since! *Wait, they never arent flirting even without the box * (Laughing out loud) Enjoy guys! Kirby :ausb:
  13. Nathan. replied to Bea's topic in Budgie Talk
Sorry Bea what a shame! If he was my brother id do something back to him (i get evil like that, and would rub his toothbrush in the sink along the edge, eat his food in the fridge that he baught, or dip his new shoes in mud then say the dog did it (Laughing out loud) (Laughing out loud) Lovey yes your right... *Kirbys a male cough cough* Kirby :ausb: (Laughing out loud)
  14. Thanks Shawna! I think theyll be successful. As you can see, his got practise at balancing from premature mating :ausb:. Belles been in box playing around, and Kirbys been on entrance hole... I think Chicos got Kirby happy, and seeing Ariel with eggs makes Belle want them now, so hopefully both clutches will be fertilized Thanks again Shawna... Kirby
  15. What the heck then! Ill try again soon... Which means new pics for everyone :ausb: (Laughing out loud) Kirby
  16. (Laughing out loud) thats what i meant But that is my income (i dont have proper job yet) so i breed my animals (fish and budgies) to get money to pay for the stuff i need (seed, millet, toys, new cages) (Laughing out loud). Kirby :ausb:
  17. Well, i did stick the perch through, only 1 cm though (Laughing out loud)... Becuase they need as much room as possible in the smaller nest. She hasnt been on the egg all night (Past 2 hours) and its kinda getting colder (almost fall here)... Yes, your so right. One day my efforts will suceed, so i should just wait, stand back, and relax until the day comes when Ariel has 8 fertile eggs, and all babies survive and i become rich (Laughing out loud) Kirby
  18. thanks Nerwen... Yes your TOTALLY right! She has been seperated by her other flock members... and it will be some time for her to settle away from them and be 'alone' from the others...even thought Chico and Ariel are 2 feet away, Kirbys in with her, and Oscar is 4" uderneath her (Laughing out loud). Will keep you posted and will take new pics maybe soon... i just dont know how to make more than 1 page per album on photobucket, it never lets me so i always have to make new albums... Kirby
  19. Hey guys! My gorgeous Kirby, and his longtime wife Belle have been seperated with a nest box... Kirbys 18 months, and Belles 12, but they have loved eachother from about the time i got Belle on November 13th of last year... They first mated when Belle was at the age of 5 months, and Kirby was about 8-9 months... but obviously were NOT sucessful *thank god!*. So, ive added the nest box, Belle got VERY into it, and emptied many of the shavings that were in it, and Kirbys gotten VERY delighted at the sight of the box. Since i had to divide the big cage (as many of you have seen me do before) i put Belle and Kirby on top, then Oscar is on the bottom... Belle is now on the floor of the top part, looking at Oscar below her. She likes Oscar, but mates with Kirby... so shes torn. She not been in the nest box for about 2 hours now... So, maybe she lost interest? I know im a woprry freak, but with the luck ive had with Chico and Ariel, its not a mystery (Laughing out loud). ps- I let Belle play in a nest box when she was a bit younger (at about age 10 months) so im afraid she sees it as a joke, not a reason to breed? She likes to chew the shavings, and chew all the side of the box, but the only thing that makes me have hope is that shes cleared out the concave where eggs should go... instead of a random spot if she were to be playing... what do you think? Thanks my freinds! Another ps- ((Laughing out loud)) Kirbys a yellow faced normal blue type II and Belles a normal skyblue with honestly the most distinct and zebra looking stripes on her back. They keep me mesmorized, i cant stop looking at them even thoguht ive had many normal wing marked birds... So i will get blue normals, and yellow face normals out of these two, which is good becuase they sell the quickest in my area. (Belle went back into box now as we speak, and Kirbys on top singing away ) Kirby
  20. Yes your right Lisa... I know several members on the forum whos birds dont lay until 2-3 eggs are laid, i just got scared becuase Ariel normally sits RIGHT away, so i paniced, but she is now on it all day, and is bing a good gurlie... So lets hope! The newest thought is what if she adles the egg(s)? Since the box is about 6" circular diameter... every time she enters the nest, she may land on the eggs, or bump them... Ive seen her get in, and not even touch the eggs at all, but when there are more eggs (i think shell lay 5 or 6) she may have no choice but land on them Well see, im trying not to worry, and let nature take its course (Laughing out loud) Kirby
  21. Thanks Nerwen! okay guys... She started to incubate it when it was laid... then i wake up, and shes been out of the box A LOT Its warm here, but not that hot that she shouldnt sit on it i dont think Chicos been singing to her, and trying to mate with her the whole time. Shes sat on the entrance perch, looking inside... Oops, she just went in it now and Chico is on front perch looking in. There is a big poop in the nest that was NOT there lastnight, and the poop is already completly dried so she must have been in it at night then right, then just got out before i woke up? Im nervous now, becuase not only am i worrying about if they will be fertile, im also worried if she might abandone the egg(s)... Will keep you posted. The eggs looks darker than the others... kinda a pinkish beige colour, but more pink then brown... so it that becuase its new? Or becuase its fertile or infertile? Her other infertile eggs were bright white....? ps- Ariels out of the box again Thanks guys Kirby
  22. Thanks a bunch Lisa! What makes you think its more promising? I just want to hear the reasons to make sure im telling you things (as in if i say one word wrong it may make you feel it wont or will work, so im just wondering why you think the eggs will be fertile? (Laughing out loud)) Thanks Kirby
  23. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Thanks Mate! Thanks a lot, and yes, im kinda worried what my wife will think of me acting like a nutso when we have babies (possibly twins becuase i was a twin but he didnt make it, i hogged the food ). Thanks about me deserving the success to mate! Ive spent TONS of my time tending to their every needs since i was 8 when i first started breeding, and think its about time i REALLY get paid off, and have my past year of breeding Chico to Ariel pay off regarding a nice healthy clutch of recessive pied bubs (Laughing out loud) Shes on the lil eggie... Chicos VERY HAPPY!!!! Ive never seen him so happy EVER in my life, and he has NOT stopped singing, feeding, and looking out for anything he can do for Ariel to make this clutch easy on her Hes a great 'dad' to the eggs and Ariel, so i hope his hard efforts work this time.. Kirby
  24. Hey guys! Ariel layed her first egg for this clutch today!!!! :hap: She layed it in her log nest in which she loves, and shes got enough room to sit on it. The egg stays in the middle, so it looks like i did in deed notch a good centre groove (Laughing out loud) Will keep you posted, and when should i candle it? Day 5? I hope SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BADLY at least ONE is fertile. Chico has gotten MUCH better at 'mating', and his tail looked like it might have fertilized her vent a few times... So im hoping, and gods getting TONS OF PRAYERS about these eggs from me (Laughing out loud) Kirby :hap:
  25. STUNNING SHAWNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the picture of Puddin' and Beka kissing on the far left, and look at that, Romeo and Bella are together fine What im saying is BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Laughing out loud) :hap: yellow face spangles to be exact :hap: (Laughing out loud) I love them all to Shawna! Abosulutly gorgeous, and i love the mix of colours you have there :hap: ps- how do you give them a bath? I mist mine guys, but yours always look SOAKED to the bone... Do you put them in the sink and turn on the tap a little bit then rub the water on them or what? Id like to know, becuase it must be good for them to REALLY clense their feathers and remove dust and debris e.t.c... Kirby :hap:
