yeah they arent't all avian vets but you can select the practices that specialise in birds. You would need to phone them to see if they have an avian vet but at least its a start if you don't know where to look. I'm sorry to hear about your wee one.

hey guys, am taking cheeky to the vet this afternoon to get his nails clipped and to get a check up. Should i take him in his cage or in a carry box (with holes!!)? any advice would be greatly appreciated. cheers ali

okay this might sound like a stupid question but how do you judge the budgies? what makes them good for showing? They all look gorgeous to me :bluebudgie:

That was good thanks. We had a kitchen disaster yesterday. Someone accidentally left the kitchen door open at dinner time. My sister went in to find Cheeky sitting right next to the cooker looking up at a big pot!! That could have been a disaster. I wouldn't recommend that anybody lets their birds anywhere near the kitchen when food is being cooked, even if they are supervised.

Hiya just a quick update on Cheeky. He is back to normal today Hooray!!! Don't know what was wrong with him but he's fine now-will keep a very close eye on him though. Just wanted to thank everyone for their help. thanks again Cheeky

Hiya, Cheeky is great thanks. His poops are looking a lot better today. I'm going to keep a close eye on him today and if they start going runny again then i'm going to take him to the vet on fri. Do you think that should be okay or do you think I should take him anyway? feel a bit of a fraud though when he's running about and chattering away!! (Laughing out loud)!! Yeah i guessed you meant the birds!!!! Yeah they look normal only they are a bit wetter. They were really wet yesterday but they seem to have dried up a wee bit. leave a nice wet patch on your jumper I tried to get a picture but my camera isn't good enough - it just looked fuzzy. I'll take him to the vet and see what he says. Thanks again!!

okay i'll definately take him to the vet then-don't want anything to happen to him. Yeah he's about 7 and a half we think boomberry. I'll try and get a photo - shouldn't be too hard - he likes to do it on me all the time!! what was wrong with your birds?? thanks for the help guys

a few days now. he doesn't seem sick though - he's still running about and being as cheeky as ever. I'll stop the baths and the fruit and see how he gets on. thanks

We have been trying to give him more fruit and vegetables because before I joined this site I was just giving him seed. He has had quite a few baths too - seems to be loving water just now!

Hi there, Cheeky has recently started to do really runny poops. They still have the greenish bit and the white solid bit but loads of watery stuff too. He seems happy enough - doesn't appear ill but he is drinking a lot more water i think. Does anyone know if this is normal or not? Thanks ali
