  4. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOoo Glad I haven't had to go through any of this with Apple.. Being handraised, hes been trusting from an early age.. AND BOY AM I GLAD :hap: Hes unclipped also, I think hes rather lucky.. considering I live in the tropics, id rather sit here in the scorching heat with all ceiling fans off just so that he can be free flighted (don't worry hes kept cool) Cheers  Una
  5. I had been thinking this myself, I think thats why i haven't used it yet.. It just didn't feel right, Besides i wouldn't give my children something i wasn't sure on so i'm not going to risk it with my feathered kids

The stoopid bottle doesnt tell me what ages its safe for : .. Sigh so I guess ill have to wait a few more months yet
  10. My aviary birds havent been wormed for a little while because a hen has been nesting. When will it be safe for me to reworm them? after reading that article, it makes me want to run out and do it right now yuck yuck yuck yuck Cheers  Una
  11. Im sure she has gone to a loving home and will be looked after lovingly.. Shes a lucky little thing

Oh what a good idea indeed Whohoooo No more seed up my nose, in my eyes or hair anymore.. I never was good at the blowing out the dish thing Cheers  Una
  13. (Laughing out loud) I simply cant imagine a dog with only two legs :(Laughing out loud): I have a little bird that was given to me by a Breeder that has two splayed legs, at first it took her ages to negotiate her way about the aviary, she spent her time resting in the seed dish or ontop of the nesting boxes. I made a few "landing platforms" about the place for her but she never used them, it was only me that was thinking "awww poor lil birdie" while she was already getting on with life and wasn't even aware that she was different from the others. Once she found her way about the place and worked out what perches she could land on, she was happy. Just like the little bird in the pet shop i'm sure s/he has worked out a way to deal with his little problem and is as happy as the rest of the birds.. Cheers  Una
  14. Great pictures Samlorson, The last picture in particular shows the difference really well.. What beautiful birds you have. Cheers  Una

My husband learnt the hard way with this.. it was his best little mate too RIP LITTLE CHARLIE -We still love you heaps..
  17. No Problem Vonn, The only symptom my bird had was his gasping for air (like a little yawn over and over again) and he would almost be on his tippy toes while doing it, with neck stretched out as far as it could go.. Obviously after doing this for a little while he got lethargic, but otherwise seemed fine.. Do keep it in the back of your mind and ask the vet to check it out.. Make sure you let us know how your little fella is going and what the vet has said.. Cheers  Una

  20. Hello What a beautiful little budgie I'm loving the last picture you posted of him His little wing will grow back with time.. LUCKILY :ausb: When i read the title of this topic "New Bird WITHOUT Wing" I was thinking ..Oh my gosh :fear how can a bird NOt have a wing?? (Laughing out loud) its an understatement to say i was relieved to see he did infact have two wings Cheers  Una
  21. Hello Vonn, Just reading your post about your Budgie panting, I had this with one of my birds a few years ago and it was infact mites in his air sacks, he was doing exactly as you are explaining and had to go on a course of antibiotics, if its left untreated it only gets worse.. the bird starts to pant as its not getting enough air into its sacks because the space is being taken up with the mites.. sounds yucky but antibiotics cleared it up.. Just thought id share Cheers  Una
