by any chance do you or anyone in your home have a cough? (just a thought) I had a budgie once, Charlie was his name and he could pull off the most PERFECT cough but it was only a noise that he had picked up from us

Mostly he sits on my arm/hand under the water (this is the end of MY shower time ) or he sits on the little rack thingy i have in there that the shampoo n stuffs goes into, i put a face washer on there so he doesn't slip etc Apple just loves water and regardless if i'm in the kitchen or in the shower, as soon as he hears it -he is over in a shot

Very cute.. I'm not sure about the english budgie bit but looking at the pictures of the ceres id say you have got two females (but I'm not to good at telling) (Laughing out loud) .. they both look as if they have alot of white about the nostrils but then again that could be caused from the camera flash the last one definitely looks like a female if nothing else I will be interested on other peoples opinions too.. Oh i gave up on waiting on the sidelines.. I'm beside the nesting box with my ear pushed up listening for "funny rubbing flaping sounds" and "the daddy murmuring to the hen while mounted as they keep beak to beak" :hap:

:ausb: I have to fight Apple off sometimes when i'm trying to do something water related (Laughing out loud).. I have troubles having a shower without him jumping up trying to get in.. he always manages to trick me into letting him join me in the shower but at least he always smells fresh (Laughing out loud). Munch will only get in the water if there is something on the bottom such as some greens, but he loves it just as much

Oh what a beautiful aviary that is.. I cant wait to see it when its all complete.. If i were you i think id not be covering the bricks (they look pretty cool) and id do as Daz suggested and fill them with a sand/cement mix to make for easy cleaning :ausb: I reckon a potted garden would look pretty good in there and it would make for easy cleaning too.. Im up in Tropical Far North Queensland and i have put a couple of rather large pots of grass in there for them.. they love to nibble on it and if they damage it too much (they havent yet) i can just plant some more. There are varietys of grass that grow well in par shade although im not exactly sure which ones This is a picture of a bit of my aviary.. :sad: Welcome to my world hahaa thats normally the way the seed is where i live (until i complain). The grubs shouldn't hurt your budgie, one topic on the boards is about feeding meal worms to them (Laughing out loud) and also with the seed being in the freezer, i guess its really upto the bird if they like it cold or not. I know for one, my Apple LOVESSSSSSSS his seed cold and loves to drink iced water :fear Sorry i cant help much with anything else but i'm sure someone will respond soon that knows more than i do. :fear Apple only makes "human" noises and smooches.. he doesnt at all sing and trill like the birds out in the aviary, Ive not yet heard him sing a song. its all just wolf whistles, mumbling, smooches, chuckles and words thrown together :sad:

Oh Wow! I had no idea umm would this explain maybe why my breeding hen is having one clutch of eggs right after the other, we are now into the "wet season" and the storms are more frequent?
