  1. Well I guess it is possible, seeing as you can get some opalines with no colour on their backs, but have the wing patterns and V shape. Maybe these ones also showed up with really bad, normal wing markings, who knows. What were the parents and babies like Norm?
  2. hahhaha lo, what a naughty little cutie
  3. That last picture is absolutely gorgeous. Do cobalt opaline spangle yellowfaces count as rainbows?

Murry is good. I like the name Jordan, it is nice.
  5. You'll have to get him over his seperation anxiety. Try putting him an another room from you for a very short time, as soon as he stops whimpering, open the door and reward and and cuddle him and tell him what a good doggy he is for being so quiet. Repeat this a few time a day, making sure to only ever open the door, when he is quiet and when he is quiet reward him instantly. Over time, you can increase the length of leaving in a seperate room, by waiting just that little bit longer after he has been quiet before you reward him. If he goes quiet and then makes noise, do not reward him, or he will think you are rewarding him for making noise and he will get confused. Just continue this and lengthen the time each day. In general only pay attention to him when he is behaving and when he is quiet and calm, then he will learn to be calm. Hope that helps.

Or like I suggested in your other post: Merry
  7. What about Mark or Marcus. Or Mars Budgies can't carry the spangle gene, because it is dominant. If they are carrying it, it will show. ooo Maybe you could call him Merry, like from Lord of the rings
  8. About the fans and air purification. You don't want the air in the breeding room to become too dry. It need to have a certain amount of humidity to allow the chicks in the eggs to hatch out and grow properly. I would suggest turning these off and putting a container of open water in the room, so that the water can evaporate and increase the humidity of the room.
  9. Yep, they will all be opaline, even the blue ones
  10. congrats!
  11. It's never too late. We have people in our class over 30 and in some others there are 50 year olds too.
  12. I really need to get a hold of a camera or something, because there are so many pictures that I want to take and show you guys. For instance Albert's new way of using the exercise wheel. He hangs on to the side and does loop de loops all by his own budgie power. Any way here the somewhat blurry pictures are: Here are there mutations : Albert: Yellowface type 2 cobalt spangle male Nikio: Violet opaline female (split to full-body-colour greywing) Bacardi: Cinnamon violet opaline spangle yf2 female brat Robbie: full body colour greywing, spangle yf2 cobalt male Kito: Cobalt opaline yf2 spangle female Saffron: DF spangle yf2 mauve female (split to full body colour greywing) Emmett: Bright green spangle male (may be split to cinnamon as his wing markings are brown) Alopex: Cobalt full-body-colour greywing spangle male (most likely split to opaline) Izzy: Sky blue normal male (split to cinnamon and opaline and full body colour greywing) Itha: Cinnamon cobalt yf2 spangle female Arkady: yf2 "normal" (if it is possible for arkady to be normal, crazy thing) male (split to opaline and full body colour grey wing) Isis: yf2 mauve full-body-colour greywing spangle. Next year I plan to breed Nikio and Alopex together and Arkady to Kito and Emmett to Itha. Should get some lovely colours coming through. Enjoy.
  13. Leave it in then. My budgies took two months before they went into the nest box, then another 3 weeks until they laid an egg. If she is going into the nest box, she is thinking about breeding.
  14. Haha, he is so cute. I love how he bashes his little ball around.

It's sooo cute. He made me giggle.
  16. Wow. Very nice handiwork. I wouldn't mind one of those myself.
  17. I'm sure someone else thought she was lutino. I know you didn't hence the reason I quoted you saying that. Ha ha, my mistake, sorry. I misread everyone's replies thinking that when they were referring to the Ino they were referring to your baby and not the mum. (Laughing out loud) She is gorgeous anyhow
  18. This little thing is not a lutino. The grey patches around her legs and rump matches the grey one of her siblings has. I would say that she would be a recessive pied. She could be a clearwing too which would explain the absence of wing markings. Look at her eyes, they should be black or plum coloured. Lutinos do not have grey patches. In this picture you can especially see the grey around her rump. I would say she is actually a yellowface type 2 clearwing recessive pied mauve.
  19. yeah, bottom pictures are a bit tricky, but I'm going to go with the ones in focus.
  20. I have that problem too and my budgies are in a big flight cage. I feed mainly canary seed mix, and that is better for them, and pellets and the odd bit of broccoli and spinach and carrot. (just got back from holiday so I need to go do some vege shopping)
  21. Well so far the swelling in her abdomen has gone down, so whatever it was has gone. I'm guessing it was an egg that moved into the peritoneal cavity and then got reabsorbed. She is pretty much back to normal, well normal for Saffy that is. (Laughing out loud)
  22. Don't worry. About it, you are doing a good job. Parrots should in general only ever come out of the cage, by you taking them out, they shouldn't be encouraged to come out by their own. This is because by coming out on their own they learn that they don't need you to go out and have fun and think that they have managed to scare you away. Keep doing what you are doing. Spend lots of time near his cage. It will take him a little while to get used to you being around. My budgie took two weeks, and he is very outgoing, so your budgie may take longer or he make take no time at all. You are doing well. :budgiedance:
  23. Judging by cere colour I would say a girl. Not all girls are evil, my baby girls are pretty good
