Further info that may help - this budgie appears quite feral at times ie flapping around the cage a lot, tearing up the sandsheet on the bottom of the cage, kicking seed out of the seed tray. It has also bitten me a few times now (quite hard) when it sits on my finger within the cage, but I am wondering if that is out of fear. I have had this budgie for one day only :-)

Thank you soooooo much Kaz - I love you!!

I am curious and want to ask you one more thing. He is a baby out of the nest 3 days ago, so do you know why he has this bluey/purple coloured cere and not the pinky/mauve cere that baby cocks normally have??

PS I have named him George :-)
