At my grain store I can buy all the different seeds seperately. If I was to mix my own seed what are the best seeds to buy and at what percentages.

Thanks in advance

Dixie

Here's bob smiths mix, one of australias great breeders

50% Canary

15% Jap

15% White French

10% Panorama

10% Red Panican

Hope that helps, a good mix

Just worked out a deal to get Golden Cob Supreme for $33 at Corio Petstock. It is $5 dearer than the Leeton seed but in my opinion is a better/cleaner mix with added Vita D and amino acids. It is RRP at $39 but I wrote them a letter explaining that I was a member of a club and asking for discounts on their seed and products. They sent a letter back offering the discounted seed and 10% off all avian products for Geelong Budgie members.

I've been making my own seed mixes as I found my budgies were eating some of the seeds, and leaving the rest - seemed like such a waste so I kept my eyes on what seeds they like and have been buying those in bulk and making 60kg mixes :D
