Posted February 24, 200619 yr I've got a eucalyptus tree next door to me and I would just like confirmation one way or the the other.........Is it okay to give the occational leaf to my budgie and two,can I use the branches for perches if I bake in oven to kill parasites etc. If so can anyone tell me for how long and on what temp? Sounds like I'm baking a cake

February 25, 200619 yr Giving your budgie eucalyptus leaves & branches is perfectly fine for your bird - actually in the wild it is a part of their diet. Do not bake the branches as you might remove some of the valuable nutrients that the bird will find when he strips the bark. In the wild the only oven is the Australian sun which only gets up to 60C (or so) in summer in the arid regions. Edited February 25, 200619 yr by Karen
