I've got a eucalyptus tree next door to me and I would just like confirmation one way or the the other.........Is it okay to give the occational leaf to my budgie and two,can I use the branches for perches if I bake in oven to kill parasites etc.

If so can anyone tell me for how long and on what temp?

Sounds like I'm baking a cake :)

Giving your budgie eucalyptus leaves & branches is perfectly fine for your bird - actually in the wild it is a part of their diet.

Do not bake the branches as you might remove some of the valuable nutrients that the bird will find when he strips the bark.

In the wild the only oven is the Australian sun which only gets up to 60C (or so) in summer in the arid regions.

Yeah and put it in the sun for an hour or two, so that the UV rays kill off any diseases etc.
