Posted February 3, 200619 yr okay sometime when im watching tv or something but not when im talking to joey he makes noises like sneezing about 6-10 in a row. it sounds like when you blow air through your front teeth, its very wierd. just wondering if he is like sneezing or he is mimicing us :budgiedance: :budgiedance:
February 3, 200619 yr yes budgies do sneeze occasionally just as we humans do. it can be a sign of a respiratory infection if they do it a lot though. keep an eye on it and if you see any discharge from the cere or change in the droppings, wheezing/clicking when he breathes or anything take him to an avian vet asap.
February 3, 200619 yr nono he only sneezes like once every month, but when he does its like for 6 sneezes............maybe he gets a feather tickling his nose
February 3, 200619 yr sweet kiwi sneezes somtimes and aittle clear mini sceal drip of water comes acsonly is that okay?
February 3, 200619 yr My birds have given me wet sneezes before. Unless it happens frequently and your bird is showing signs of illness, or what he sneezes out makes the feathers above the cere wet, it is probably fine. You can call your vet if you are worried. Mine usually do it when the heat is on in the winter. I think it has something to do with low humidity. But if you think there is something wrong, best get it checked out with your vet.
February 3, 200619 yr i might call just to check but it doesant seem to bother her and she seems as loud as ever
February 3, 200619 yr Another thing to watch for is tail bobbing.. When the bird is sitting still (not chattering) and the tail is noticibly moving up and down.
February 3, 200619 yr All the ones we've had have sneezed occasionally...........I've never been undully worried, unless it was to continue for days and there would be a discharge.........
February 5, 200619 yr My Newton sneezes, it mainly happens when she's drinking water. *achtweet* hehe
February 5, 200619 yr Once Arkady did this giant sneeze and as he did it he shook his head and sprayed me with snot!! Then just after I recovered, he did it again. Arkady was highly amused, but I wasn't. :ausb: :oliveb:
February 5, 200619 yr Star sticks his head in his water or bath and sometimes this causes him to sneeze a lot :hap:
February 11, 200619 yr SB used to sneeze on occasions and it always seemed to be when you were about to give him a kiss. Charlie also occasionally sneezes and it is several in succession when he does.
February 11, 200619 yr It can also be a copied sound. My lorikeet sneezes to call my oldest boy, who suffers dreadful hayfever and is always sneezing! :glare:
February 12, 200619 yr Blinkie sometimes sits in front of my face, picks his nose with a claw and then snots all over my face....he's very polite though and usually licks up the mess he's made.
February 15, 200619 yr All my budgies sneeze quite regularly, they have for a while. I think its the dust from the seed floating around their cage. I might need to change their seed to another brand. I hope they're not sick, they look fine, just sneeze a lot.
