if your talking about the hagen vision cages do not get one. not only are they too small for your budgie to have proper room to play, there have been many complaints of them breaking and being very delicate. i also personally think they are quite ugly. i dislike the fact the cage has only a tiny area of bars for climbing. budgies mainly climb to make their way around the cage, also there is very limited space for perches and and there is just no way that you could fit an adequate number of different sized perches in one of those.

why not go for a traditional rectangular cage which allows the bird to make best use of the space and also leaves plenty of climbing room and space to provide a lot of different perches and toys.

in my opinion it would be better to forget the seed guards and invest in a lovely traditional rectangular cage and a dirt devil :)

I've gone to the wrong site...It's about fish? :)

Budgerigars like to fly forward not up. So a rectangular one allows flight.

daz you have to clikc on the online shopping on the fish page and then on into the bird section. there are hagen vision cages in there. the normal rectangular one before the hagen visions looks better though :)

Budgie cages need to be horizontally long. I think also that a budgie cage should have a good mix of vertical and horizontal bars so you can connect a range of perches and toys at different heights. It is ideal to have the top of the cage as bars so that you can hang toys from the top. I also find that having darker coloured wires, like black, is better than lighter ones, such as white, as it is much easier to see your budgies through darker wires. Large doors are also handy( so you can get your budgie out easier, but not so large that you can't fit many perches into the cage. It is also good if they clip into position as well, saving you from having to tie your doors shut.

Oh and when you arrange your perches, use mixes of natural branches (from fruit trees, like apple) and normal perches of varying sizes, so they can stretch their feet. Ummm... and it is best to arrange your perches so that when the budgies are sitting on them they are facing the length of the cage. So that the perches span the shortest width of the cage(from front to back), but not the entire length (not side to side). This allows them to be able to fly from perch to perch.

There, finished! Sorry about my giant spiel. I just thought I should say it and I hope it helped.

This one is better but needs the perches to go across not long ways.

im going to merry hill on wensday so i can look at some cages! :fear i cant wait!i think im more excited then the birds! :P:P :fear

I love this hexagonal Montana Indoor Bird Aviary birdaviary.jpg

I personally think the Hagen Vision cages are quite interesting and look very modern. Hagen have spent years carrying out research on the design, they are however expensive and I don't know anyone who's bought one. http://www.hagen.com/uk/birds/addinfo/vision.cfm. I've just got a beautiful butterfly mirror from that range.83074_lg.jpg

oh gosh i love that cage i like the hagen one but if it breacks and i :fear wont a huge one for my little cuties :P :fear :D:P love the mirror!

yeah go for something like that :fear early christmas present or something!

the hagen vision cages are definitely not big enough to house 2 budgies.

ive chosen my new cage sorry no oics 90 by 60 cm its called a level6or7 how many birds could that hold?

I think that you could house 2 budgies in the larger Hagen Vision. I have one of those cages. --- wish I'd never have bought it though. They're difficult to clean and heavy. Not to mention that a plastic tab broke the first time I took it apart to clean.

My parents also have a Hagen vision cage to house their budgie as well as the budgie of mine who stays at home. Hurdy Burdy I agreee with the weight of the cage, although having space in the stand to store things certainly is very convenient. We've never had any problems with cleaning it though, in fact my mom thinks it's the easiest cage of all the ones we've ever had. I guess it just depends on personal preferences. :)

I one day (when I can afford it many years from now) hope to have a larger cage to house more budgies. Does anyone have any clue how many budgies the Montana Indoor Bird Aviary could house? It's beautiful!
