Tribute To Jean Horrobin

Last night the fancy lost not only a great breeder but a truly wonderful person in Jean Horrobin. She achieved national wins with her favourite variety Fallows as well as the Opaline normals. She galvinized the fancy at all levels from National Judges to raw beginners in a way I

have never seen before or since when she started a discussion via emails on the changes to the nationals with the three birds benched. She made it possible for every single person to have their say.

Jean was a person that when she saw a need for a job to be done she just got on with it and did it and not many people realise just how much she contributed to this fancy of ours because most of what she did she did quietly and behind the scenes never looking or expecting a pat on the back for doing it.

What made Jean one of the special ones was her love for her birds and the love for our hobby. I am proud to have been able to call her my friend and priviledged to have known her..

Thanks Vicki for posting, I hadn't heard this news which is very sad. A lovely person and a huge loss to the budgie breeding world.

I din't know her but have heard of her, sad loss when it comes to any one from the fancy.
