March 26, 200916 yr If you have a male and female parakeet/budgie that are bonded and ontroduce another female? These budgies are all around 1 year in age. If you have a male and female that are semi bonded (feed one another but no mating going on) and introduce another female into the cage and also add another nesting box, will the male mate with this female as well as the previous female when she is ready? Thanks. Best Answer MOGGIE2 ( aka Kaz ) - Chosen by Asker As the male is responsible for feeding his hen and his chicks you are overstretching the mark when you expect him to do it for two families. He will most likely just look after one hen leaving the other to cope with eggs and chicks, or he will try and look after both and it may well kill him, as everything he eats will go to a hen and chicks. Dont push your luck. Source(s): I own over 300 show budgies and have bred thousands of chicks. I am admin of a budgie forum I own parrots, finches and canaries. I am a member of 3 exhibition budgerigar clubs Asker's Rating: Asker's Comment: I really don't like you Moggie.Your Rude. March 26, 200916 yr I don't understand why people post a lot of the questions they do, you can TELL they know they're doing the wrong thing (even on some deep subconscious level), it's almost like they're posting to get at least one person to give them the answer they want to hear and justify what they want to do or have done. Like.. I did (this really stupid and dangerous thing) and my bird died. Do you think it was because I did (the really stupid and dangerous thing)? I swear they know they've done something dumb (or are about to) and they're looking for just one person to say "no, you're good". Then if you give them an answer they don't want to hear, you're rude and inconsiderate! I trust you're going to continue answering his questions? I would. Mostly out of concern and a desire to help educate people (hoping other people will read and learn from it), but also partly out of spite because he doesn't want your (correct) answers.

Yes I will, his budgies questions, but some of his "other questions" I wont be answering.

Hypothetical thinking of the question asker: "Yeah Kaz... keep your "rude, inconsiderate" comments to yourself... when I post things on a public forum I expect people to read into my questions and know that I only want to hear responses which suit me, even down to the time of day that they respond (sometimes I am in a different mood in the morning and therefore require a different kinds of response to what I do in the afternoon). Everybody knows that what you read on the internet can be taken as gospel so stop spouting your knowledgeable drivel on here and quit making me realise that I am, in fact, a bit of a tosser." Oh my! When will people realise that by posting things on the internet you are asking for trouble if you're misguided!? Keep up your great work Kaz!! Edited March 26, 200916 yr by CaspersRose

March 26, 200916 yr hope all the people trying to help with the correct answers over there are remembering to VOTE! better to get a message across if they see the same sort of answers marked as the BEST. and a hint you can vote your own answer
March 26, 200916 yr Author voting is all part of it. if you dont vote for the good answers (ie: your own) the the daft answers get best instead It's a site that is a real chore at times. but i do it for the birds, i hope some are being cared for better because of genuine advice given.

March 27, 200916 yr Author Is my bird dead? or did she lay an egg? my bird has not moved all day and im worried she looks dead, but my mother says she is alive and she things she laid an egg. she says her head is up if she died then her head would lay flat on the bottom of the cage, but her eyes seem half way closed. mom says she saw her blink a few times, i really don't know please tell me if its normal for parakeets to do that or if she is dead, i dont know. there is seeds all around her body so maybe its a makeshift nest? like i said i dont know please help quickly moments like these parents need to have more information about the pets their kids are keeping. The poor bird, if its not already dead, sounds like it should have gone to a vet a long time ago.
March 31, 200916 yr I would like to take this opertunity to address those that may be worried about the content of the questions. The main purpose of this thread to to show the ANSWERS that are being given to those that are trying to come to terms with looking after and breeding these beautiful birds. I, as do all the staff on BBC, enjoy the questions that are being asked no matter what the content. It is through the asking of questions and receiveing correct answers that we learn. Good education is the basis of this forum and will be so. It is a pitty that there are forums that allow this type answers that can be very detrimental to the birds.
March 31, 200916 yr I, for one, am over there trying to provide good answers and better information than a lot that is currently being offered. This topic was not designed to ridicule the people asking the questions....it is meant to show that bad information is being offered out there and how we can possibly offer better advice through opening up some peoples eyes to these things. I was kind of hoping to rally some "volunteers" from here to help put better info out there on the other site. Edited March 31, 200916 yr by Daz
