Posted June 26, 200817 yr :hap: I dont know why but two of my budgies have died and with the second one i could tell that it was probably goind to die i am going to separate my budgies into different cages and clean the main cages( with bleach?) What else can i do and what medicines can i give them if there are any. Andrew
June 26, 200817 yr Probably the best thing you can do is to get them into a warm cage with a heat pad or heat lamp, or a hospital cage. And then get them to the avian vet as soon as possible. Without knowing what is wrong with your birds, it is not possible to know what to medicate them with and if it is something serious, which it is, the best person to assess this is an avian vet.
June 26, 200817 yr I'm so sorry for your losses :hap: I agree with sailorwolf - an avian vet needed. You can take the deceased birds with you and they can run some tests to see what happened. Good luck and keep us posted.
June 26, 200817 yr Isn't it possible to run autopsies on the dead birds? Probably costly but hey, if it can save the others...
June 27, 200817 yr Author Thanks everyone I am taking the budgie i think is sick to the vet today and going to seprate them all into different cages. So that the disease does not spread. Clean all cages with disinfectant and hopefully that will solve it. Andrew
June 27, 200817 yr sorry to hear of your troubles l hope the vet will be able to pinpoint what is wrong and hopefully it will get treated. thanks for keeping us updated. Edited June 27, 200817 yr by birdluv
June 29, 200817 yr Author Well the great news is that none of my other birds are infected and they are all well
June 29, 200817 yr that is good news? How are you sure they are not? By the way, what did the vet say about the sick bird and how is it doing?
