Posted June 24, 200817 yr Baby 1 Skyblue Normal Hen ( i think) green opaline, dom pied, tcb hen ( i think ) green spanle cock ( i think ) and my Fav violet opaline spangle cock Baby 5 is a yf2 dom pied cock but batteries went flat again Can you let me know if I am wrong, thanks guys
June 24, 200817 yr The last two that you think are spangles look like they are texas clearbodies Neat. I have had some chicks like that and they DO start out looking spangle sort of, but I think you have two texas clearbodies there. The one you think is a texas clearbody above, I think is a recessive pied Edited June 24, 200817 yr by KAZ
June 24, 200817 yr Author How can this be, I thought and have been told that you need 2 TCB genes to make TCB babies ?????
June 24, 200817 yr I have had TCB chicks in a nest with only one visual parent being TCB. I will post you some pictures of TCB chicks shortly as I have some the same as yours. BUT it is VERY EASY to mistake a TCB chick for a spangle in the early stages. I am positive your two chicks are TCB
June 24, 200817 yr green spanle cock ( i think ) and my Fav violet opaline spangle cock Here's Curry (TCB cock ) feeding a TCB chick and two of his other TCB chicks
June 24, 200817 yr They're all so cute! I have a new appreciation for TCB's after breeding my first two now
June 24, 200817 yr Oh well neat i guess you wont be getting rid of prince now then? Congratulations on your tcb's! I have dibs on your violet tcb- - yeah right as if you would get rid of him!!!
June 24, 200817 yr PM me you address so I can come and pick the little blue Hen up! I get people like the spangles etc... but normal blues and normal greens just beat them every time!
June 24, 200817 yr Author Come get it AV !!!!! I'll be culling soon ... Kaz, they look the same !!!, So maybe all this time it thought that they were spangles in my nest and they could have been TCB .... I will keep a close eye from now on Thanks Guys xxxx
June 24, 200817 yr Come get it AV !!!!! I'll be culling soon ... Kaz, they look the same !!!, So maybe all this time it thought that they were spangles in my nest and they could have been TCB .... I will keep a close eye from now on Thanks Guys xxxx I used to make the same mistake Neat. The TCB chicks DO start out looking spangle and I have often thought spangle as they were feathering up. Its only when you see the variation through the wing and the flights being different colour that there shows a difference and TCB is what you discover
June 24, 200817 yr I would'nt be counting tbc, till they feather up & recessive in there its a mixed lot.
June 24, 200817 yr Sweet Baby's there Neat. Got any males you don't want ? I'll trade you for a seagul & some cake !
June 25, 200817 yr Your second bird looks like a recessive pied green, with some number of dark factors. I can't see properly. I don't see the opaline, though at all. Edited June 25, 200817 yr by Sailorwolf
June 25, 200817 yr The one you think is a texas clearbody above, I think is a recessive pied Thas what I said already Sailorwolf PS Glad you agree with me though
