Posted April 9, 200817 yr This is my BG And this is the hen i bought for him today It's not a good shot of her. She is a yellow faced grey spangle with a green 07 ring - she was not in the mood to pose for the camera as she broke a blood feather while freaking out in the quarantine cage I am hoping to get some good pics of her tomorrow when she is feeling a bit better

April 9, 200817 yr Author Thanks Guys I am hoping she and BG are going to be the first show type (of many) breeding that i do :budgiedance: I would like to sllllooooowwwllllyyy eaze my way into it - I would like to join a club some time too, any recomendations? Thanks for the birthday wish lonebudgie - the kids spoilt me with a garbage bin... yes really... but its one to put my seed in - i have moved from 10kg bags of seed to 40kg bags hehehe, so i needed to upsize the bin Edited April 9, 200817 yr by **Liv**
April 9, 200817 yr Author WOW they are both stunning birds, I would love to see the back of her too. I tired getting shots of her but she is VERY lively and flighty - although not bitey - she has been handled before :budgiedance: - She let me fix her blood feather and use pressure untill the bleeding stopped. This photo was taken after all of that, hence the grumpy look hehe. She is very pretty and her wing markings are lovely - I feel they are stronger than BG's too and i will post pics of her tomorrow afternoon for sure
April 9, 200817 yr What a nice little couple. They sure look like a smart match. That'll make pretty baybees.
April 9, 200817 yr Liv, I’m glad that your going to make some use of Big Grey, when I think you said you weren’t going to breed again for awhile I thought that was a pity, as would like to see if he can father some chicks for you. Are you going to breed them in a cabinet so you can be sure if the chicks are his this time? If it works you will probably get some DF Spangles [white] young, but some could be YF, that would be interesting.

I have finished with colony breeding and i have decided to reduce the amout of breeding the birds do as i am not actively selling my birds. It won't take long for my aviary to over crowd if i'm not careful. I will put some more perches in my aviary soon so i can fit more birds. What do breeders normally do with their 'culled' birds? I am only going to use cabnents now, and BG and his new Lady (i think that can be her name, Lady :hap: ) will be the first ones in I am very excited about them and i never even thought about DF Spangles or even YF DF Spangles
April 10, 200817 yr :ygbudgie: Well, knowing nothing about breeding, all I can say they are stunning budgies!
April 10, 200817 yr She's gorgeous Liv. What a great choice and I think they will make a lovely couple. The president of my budgie club knows someone who is active in a club out north. I was supposed to go there yesterday and have lunch with them and see the northern lady's birds, but unfortunately, due to personal problems, it was cancelled. I am going to a meeting Friday night however, and I can ask for details of clubs out north if you like :hap: Lovely birthday present :D
April 10, 200817 yr Author Thanks Sunnie. It would be great if you could PM me the details when you get them Here is some new pictures of Lady - she is in a far better mood today The dried blood is from when she broke a blood feather yesterday she is fine now though :hap:
April 10, 200817 yr She's a real honey Was she the only bird you found with your birdday money? Edited April 10, 200817 yr by Sunnie
April 10, 200817 yr Author She's a real honey Was she the only bird you found with your birdday money? I also got a violet cinnamon opaline male The lace wings and fallows were gone and the place was a complete disaster zone with sick and dying birds, dead birds, dirty water and no seed. I left with an aching heart, lots of tears and no birds - so i didn't get your fallow information, sorry . I wouldn't even buy a PINK budgie from that dirty discusting cruel place!!!!!! :hap:
April 10, 200817 yr Oh wow how horrible! I dont understand how someone could even have a potential buyer come to a place that is obviously not looked after :hap: Have you posted pics of your new boy yet? Have I missed them?
April 10, 200817 yr He is in the "What are these marks" thread. I think he is sick I read it.....I hope not :fear He's a nice looking boy too
