Posted January 17, 200817 yr Hey, hello! I just realised Im not the 1st Italian member of this board...which makes me feel less uncomfortable while writing this message...okay I live near Rome, and I breed/feed/support a crew of 6 budgies which belong to my neighbouring aunt who is too old to do all by herself...my English is quite rusty if not totally insane, so I hope you will be so kind to understand and forgive those awful distortions I have performed and am about to perform on your beautiful language... I'm definitely not an expert such as duth, whom I heard of while visiting a budgie-devoted Italian forum, but a genuinely enthusiastic amateur of this wonderful species of parakeets... As I told you, Im feeling kinda nervous in leaving that oh-so-cosy Italian forum and approaching this marble sanctuary of the Australian Budgerigar, this polychrome, opalescent Pantheon of the most lovely birds...I can almost hear my voice echoing from the skyscraping vaults and a flock of budgies fixing me with inquisitorial eyes from above, completely still and silent... ...so please say something nice and kind...a welcome would be great
January 17, 200817 yr Welcome to the forum. I've only just joined too and it's a wonderful place and full of wonderful people. Would love to see pics of your budgies.
January 17, 200817 yr Welcome Sandman, glad to have you with us, I hope you enjoy yourself...your English doesn't sound to bad to me.
January 17, 200817 yr Welcome Aboard. Though I live in the U.S. I once lived in Greece not too far from Italy so please please feel welcomed.
January 17, 200817 yr Author Thank you both...yes, Id love to share the portraits of my budgies with the rest of you, but due to the size restrictions I cannot post directly those I have saved on photobucket...can I post hyperlinks to the full-size images on the photo section?
January 17, 200817 yr you can resize them right in photobucket and put the picture up here that is what we do or you can post the link but most of us take the time to resize and then put the picture it is less time consuming then clicking on individual links. .

Thank you!!!! I have just downloaded that resizing device you put in the 'How to post pictures' section of this wonderful board...does it work? Am I wrong or should pop up somewhere disguised as a button within Internet Explorer?
January 17, 200817 yr Hi Sandman...great to have you here. Your command of the english language is outstanding and I sense a bit of a poet in you. Photobucket has its own resizing feature on it so if you use their editing feature and choose the email/website size it will be perfect for here. Cheers Kaz PS My grandfather was italian too....surname Cecchini Edited January 18, 200817 yr by KAZ
January 18, 200817 yr Welcome to BBC Sandman,I am sure you will enjoy it here and we eagerly await your pictures!
January 18, 200817 yr Welcome Sandman, I'm sure you will feel very welcomed and enjoy chatting with us budgie lovers. This is a great site for talking about the beautiful bird that brings so much joy into our lives. You're English is quite good to by the way.
January 18, 200817 yr Hi Sandman and welcome to the forum. This place is fantastic! You will learn so much here and I'm sure you'll also enjoy sharing our own knowledge! Can't wait to see your flock. Enjoy
January 18, 200817 yr Hi sandman and welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensley, everyone here is very friendly and always willing to offer helpful advice . P.S. I don't think you need to fret about your English, it's very good (and besides even those of us who have spoken/written it all our lives stuff it up occasionally .)
January 18, 200817 yr Author Some of those pics on photobucket are already posted in another forum...guess they all are about 640x480 pixels...if I shrink them using photobucket what would be of those already posted? They'll be shrinked as well in consequence. They'll not show up anymore in the other posts...or whatelse??? To Kaz: do you know which town/region of Italy your granfather originally came from? I see you live in Australia. There's plenty of small villages in my surroundings which became ghost towns because many people left them for Australia, particularly after WWII...Some distant relatives of mine are currently visiting Perth on a trip to celebrate the inauguration of the Monument of the Emigrant, and they are bringing the Holy Thorn with them (one of the thorns that were on JC's 'crown', they say)...unfortunately I only have an Italian article on this subject: Pert _ Monument to Emigrants Ooops, hope you would forgive me for the brief 'out of topic' detour
January 18, 200817 yr Sandman, if I were you I would make separate entries from your original photos in photobucket so that it doesn’t effect your other forums. You could just post links to the ones you already have, but people on slow connection may not look at them.
January 19, 200817 yr :ygbudgie: Good plan Norm, the picture specifications for my animal forum are much different than this one.
January 19, 200817 yr Welcome to the forums Sandman. You have such a great sense of humour ( I was giggling reading your first post), I think you will be a great and fun member of our community. :budgiedance:
