Wet Perches.

I was having a look in one of my books about budgies and the Author had stated that wet perches can cause Arthritis like when it rains or gets wet from the hose...things like that. Do you think that this could really occur?

Honestly no. According to what you are stating, or quoting, that means that every budgie that ever lands on a wet perch would get arthritis? Lucky we are in a 100 year drought, or those bush budgies are all going to need anti-arthritic cream whenever it rains out west.

I am no expert, but I think that is utter rubbish!!!

Arthritis is inflammation of the joints due to joint break down such as not having different style perches, old age I would think that if the bird is already arthritic and on a cold wet day it would make the arthritis more painful but I agree I can't see how it would cause it. Did he say why or have research behind his statement?

No, the author didn't say why at all. It just said "Wet perches can cause Arthritis"!!! No reason at all. :)
