Yay- should all be done by the time I get my bum down there to say hello. (and fill shirt up with feathered things!!)

I reckon I could survive for a year on the amount of doves we get at home, they are worse than mice at the speed their population grows and hangs around the aviary!!

:D

Here's half the slab...couldnt stand back far enough to get a good photo and besides we had to put a barrier up for the dogs...

Looks good Kaz...

Look at the possibility that maybe the Italian did a 'job' on the doves with a free pair of cement shoes for each one. Problemo solveoed! ;)

COOL that is one BIG avairy!!

Thats just the bird breeding room area. The aviaries will be three flights of 2 metres by 4 metres each.

It just seems right that there are bird prints in a bird room, whenever one of us lays concrete we have an urge to write in it too!!!!

Umm..I thought that good luck came when you got some doodoo dropped onto your head??? Are you sure the doves didn't leave anything but their footprints???

Just being a bit of a cheeky :D :D

hahaha love the bird prints.. but the concrete looks really great job. watching with interest on the progress... I hope one day I can have such a big aviary. Your's looks quite large... (trying to convert meters to inches in my head)... what type of breeding cabnits are you planning to have made?

Pity we couldnt put a barrier up for the doves :)

We have finally ordered the new birdroom since the builder who was going to do it cannot be found ( My guess is he has taken a job up North ).

Only hassle is it will take 3 weeks to be delivered and then must be put up. Good news is its in modular sections and even Ken should be able to put that together :(

I will gather some "friends " to help him.

The new birdroom will be 4 metres by 4 and a half metres and 8 feet tall.

I have specially ordered double doors to open wide..... for Feathers's wheelchair to go through....and also so I can open it wide for ventilation when necessary. I can make up some inside doors with aviary mesh so that at times I can have the double doors open and the mesh door shut...again for ventilation and crossflow breezes.

Off the right hand end will be two flight aviaries, a door into each. Off to the side of those will be another flight aviary. Each of those will be 4 metres by 2 metres.

I should have the birdroom but not the flights finished by the time the Nationals ( budgie nationals ) rolls around.

That sounds great Kaz, pity, my son Adam is over there near you in Mandurah probably spelt that wrong but any way he is a carpenter and a good one too.

good luck with it all
