So what do you think!

looks great you have so many toys :ausb: they will never be bored. Have then been flying back and forth, Pretty loves to go back and forth and back and forth :D

The set up looks great :ausb:

How have Heidi and LC settled into your flock?

  • Author

They are still a bit scared in the smallest cage Elly but Im sure they will settle.

Thanks Pixie - LC has turned out to be a lovely natured playful little thing and well Heidi has decided she is Queen budgie and even takes on Patty. She is adorable though and sleeps laid down like she is still in her nest awwww.

Awww would love to see her laid down asleep.. glad all is okay with them all :ausb:

FANTASTIC booms!!!

How great!

But unfortunately, i have to be the one with the nagging, Sorry :( I just think theres 4 times the amount of toys needed! I have the white cage, and i have 4 perches, 7 small toys, and TONS of flgith room. You have about 20 perches, and 50 toys in them! TOO CROWDED! I dont know about you, but i wouldnt want my bedroom to have 5 desks, 3 dressers, 2 beds, and 6 end tables in it! Would you? Other than that, its all great! I might osund mean, or rude, i just feel when you say "we are having squaubles here already grrrr" no wonder! TOO CRAMMED! I have 6 in the white cage, and havent yet had a squabble in over a month and a half! :) So, delcutter it, (Laughing out loud), and it will be MUCH better to me anyways! Who agrees?

Kirby :)

Very nice i love that white cage!

Kirby, my birds love ALL their toys and have been used to having this amount of toys, they have PLENTY of room to move around and I wouldnt over crowd a cage so much as they couldnt.

I appreciate your opinion but dont agree with what so ever. You sound like you must have very BORED birds in a cage that size with only 4 perches but maybe your birds dont get as much out flying time as what mine do.

And excuse me if you please but can you count 50 toys!

Oh and the birds that I said were squabbling, is caused by one bird who has always been a trouble causer nothing to do with no room.

I do agree with Kirby though. Your budgies need to beable to stretch their wings to the full length and have flying room in side the cage.

I do like the set up though. (the picture may just make it look more crowded than it actually is.

If you have seen my cage (89cm x 89cm x 165cm), it has quite a few perches, but a lot of room in between. I only have about 8 toys in there at a time, but my budgies are never bored. I just don't like it too cluttered. In fact when I open the doors to let them out, they can't be bothered coming out to fly!

Here is my cage (I haven't got any recent photos) I have changed it around since and added more perches since, but it is close to the perch density ((Laughing out loud)) that I currently have. I should get some recent ones.

If you look CLOSELY you can see that the majority of the toys are hung to the side of the cage - not dangling through the middle so they take up very much flight space at all. I and my birds like colourful things - I think it makes a cage looks far more interesting for them. Colour makes things look crowded and these cages are far from it.

The first one does look like a lot of toys :), but when you look at the 3rd picture you can see that it really is not cluttered. I wish I had that many toys for Merlin & Pretty. I stopped buying toys after Pretty never really played with them, he just plays with his plastic balls. But I am going to have to pick up the habit again :P because Merlin loves to play.

If I were a budgie I would want to live in your cages Boomberry :P

Exactly, i cant even count, to crammed to tell what the toys are, how many there are, and what they are! :) I can see they like toys, i just wouldnt want to be that crammed! Thats all, no big deal. Even look at the picture of your spangle, and grey! They can even fly off that perch becuase they have two swings infront of them! I bet they crawl everywhere, hardly fly dont they? (Laughing out loud), now, i will laugh if they dont, but still . . . :P Sorry to sound rude, id just say, whatever you think is good for your birds is good. So, in all, if your happy, its fine. Just make sure they are twice as happy, even without flying time!

My cage is the white one. I have 4 nice natural branches, that i replace every 3rd day, 8 food cups, 2 swings, one big ladder, 2 baths, and 4 toys in it currently! They have more than enough, and they still have TONS of flying space, not to mention the 1-2 hours daily flying time! :P Also you can see my one setup in my signature....does that look boring ? I have perches, toys, food, just not loaded full so they have room to fly around in, and get excerise! :P

my 2 cents here....

from what I know of booms, she has very happy, heathy birds, that get lots of flight time outside the cage. She knows what makes her birds happy, not us.

thats it, i'm done, (Laughing out loud)

(Laughing out loud), yes i agree! :glare:

Best of luck Boom, sorry in my part, i did start it  (Laughing out loud), do what feels right!

Kirby :D

Yeah like I said, it is a little hard to tell from the picture. I think it is good to place perches far from each other so the birds are encouraged to climb and fly and exercise (not saying this to you personally Booms, just in general).
