Welcome to the forum! Very pretty birdies

I would suggest bringing him to an avian vet. You could do the clipping yourself but you risk cutting too far and clipping a vein. If your budgie is very fidgety this would prove even more difficult. Bring him to the vet, much easier for you and the birdie.
  3. AH! So cute! I love him!
  4. oh! that's a great idea! I'm going to do that! thanks lin!
  5. Awesome site! It has so much! I had so much trouble looking for somewhere in Canada. I've sent them an email enquiring about shipping costs, hoping it's not too expensive! Has anyone ordered from them before? I'd like to hear if people were satisfied or not? thank you!

Quarantine for 30 days at least!!!! Look I've been ready tons of your posts and they seem to all contradict eachother. I really think the best thing would be to ignore his posts, because I have yet to see any replies that have honest answers to anything. If you don't even have a cage to quarantine your bird in, then just don't buy extra birds. It's ridiculous. And definitely don't try to breed them (i've seen your posts about that as well!)
  7. Third budgie in the bunch! He's now in a quarantine cage away from the other two. I have a really cruddy picture of him. He's pretty scared, but I'll give him time to adjust. I don't have a name yet. Still thinking, and I have to ask my boyfriend for ideas too! Hopefully I'll get better pictures soon, I didn't want to scare him too much though.
  8. Yeah... the title says it all! Is it okay to feed my budgies turkey? Nothing more, nothing less to that question. yep.

Is there a site with pictures and junk to help someone who's completely confused?

It really is an awesome book! I got it off chapters.ca in the used book section for like 4 bucks plus shipping. Great, awesome, etc. I read it everywhere I went. I'm going to reread it and jot a few things down soon enough. It's just... so much information. I was so happy when I found it because really... not enough people write good books like that.
  11. I've recently noticed that Napoleon has one wing that's longer than the other. And this causes him to fly badly. I'm worried it won't adjust. What's wrong? Is it possible that his wings were clipped badly? I never did it, but he had them clipped when I got him and I just let his wings feathers grow out. And now they're uneven... :rip:
  12. Yeah agreed, I think he's a type 2. When I take a look at him in reality he's very splotchied full of yellow. His cheek patches are strange too, one has bright yellow and the other isn't. It looks very abnormal. I'll try and take a picture of it. My little yellow splotchie budgie!
  13. Well it's not really complicated for me. First off I love to buy online and I really don't mind it. I do it all the time for other stuff. Second, I give them seed as well, though only at night for a limited amount of time. The pellets I have just don't seem nutritious enough (by looking at the back of the package) and that's why I was really interested in Harrison's. I'm a big "organic" freak and when I heard about organic bird food, I was eager to get my hands on some. So yes, that all I suppose.
  14. Really? You have to learn that once you're there?? I've already done all that, and that alone isn't enough to get me into vet school. How old are you? If you don't mind me asking. Things must be very different from over here.
  15. Awww okay, thank you! I knew it was probably that. It's just that Newton has never done that, even when she was little and still frightened of me. Napoleon is much more timid. He follows Newton everywhere! hehe
  16. I have pellets right now, but they have changed the color of the birdie's poop... and that's something that I don't like. It deters me from knowing when there's an actual problem. So I want to find something that doesn't change the excrement a whole lot and that's (preferably) organic.
  17. Napoleon is skittish, so he flies away from me a lot, especially when I go to get Newton and he's near her, he usually flies away and freaks out. When I go to retrieve him he often squawks (obvious because he's really scared of me) and then he hold out his wings and it seems like there's something wrong. It seems an odd way to hold out his wing(s). Is it because he's scared or is it some other reason. I believe his wings were clipped before I got him. But I have not clipped them, and will not. It seems that he doesn't have the same length of flight feathers as Newton, then again... her wings have never been clipped in my household (maybe prior but not that I know of). He's never bumped into anything that might have broken a wing, so I don't think it's a skeletal injury. Any ideas? I'm really quite stumped. I'm hoping it's just because he's scared, though that's not very wonderful. It makes me sad to think he's so frightened. He's never ever bitten me, he's just so very skittish. Newton on the other hand is a sassy girl. She bites, quite hard actually, but she's still tame. She thinks she's boss actually. I beg to differ, but... it's really hard to reason with her hehe. Anyways, if anyone can shed some light on the wing situation i'd much appreciate it :bluebudgie:
  18. i hear it's good. but... as of so far i can't purchase it. :bluebudgie: i really can't travel to where they have it. so i'll have to try and find some other kind of pellet. can you recommend another type of pellet ?

  20. I'd like to get Harrison's bird food. I know there is a place in my province that sells the food but it's not exactly close by. So i'd much rather get it shipped. The Harrison's site doesn't seem to ship to Canada so I'm looking for somewhere else that might sell it and ship it here.
  21. Under the "country" pulldown menu, there's only a selection for the United States. Is there a canadian site? Maybe there's a problem with the site at the moment?
  22. I've checked out the Harrison's site but it doesn't seem to have a selection for anywhere but the U.S. Is there another bird food that I could buy online that's just as good? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong? I'm mighty disappointed
  23. AH! I finally got my dad to agree! I took money out of my account to pay him back so he doesn't have to worry about getting payed back. So, I'm curious, which kind of harisson's is the best? There seems to be a variety of different types. Oh and do they only ship to the U.S.?? I live in Canada :S that would really be a bummer if they didn't. I was all ready to order!
