Do Budgies Sneeze?
My Newton sneezes, it mainly happens when she's drinking water. *achtweet* hehe

Taking Budgie Photos
I have a Fuji, I use autofocus, my pictures turn out fine. If you are going up close try to use the macro setting, and even closer use the micro macro. If there's a lot of movement use the "sports" setting on the camera, im not sure if that model has it. Also make sure you are getting adequate lighting, but again not overdoing it. Do you have an example of the photos that are blurry?

Gourmet Seed - Waste Of Money?
I never liked "Gourmet" much myself. Nor did my budgies. And I believe it spoils rather quickly. :oliveb: If this is the same gourmet you're talking about... then yes it's a waste of money in my mind.

Not A Good Cage
Yeah that too! Though I do like getting mail hehe

Not A Good Cage
Oh okay, i guess it's my perception then I'm really bad when it comes to judging how big something is by a picture. In person and close up I'm fine though hehe, that's why when I bought my cage I wanted to do it in person and not online (not to mention shipping would've cost an arm and a leg).

Not A Good Cage
I was aware of the round thing, it's just the second cage looks mighty tiny to me. I guess it's just the way I perceive the picture.
-
Not A Good Cage
I'm confused... if the second cage is the same width as the first one... wouldn't the first one be better because on a whole it does have more space. Of course I shant forget that budgies aren't helicopters still... The second cage also look very small, but pictures are misleading so it may just be that I can't see the size properly.

New Cage!
From the picture it does look tall and it seems that it lacks in width but it really doesn't. It's really deep/wide and if you stand and look at it in reality it's a very good size. It's the biggest cage I could afford and it cost me 200 dollars, on sale. Of course if ever I want to add more cage space I'll buy more cages. In my opinion the cage is really quite big, I honestly think pictures don't do justice to a lot of cages most of time. Newton flies around just fine, and since I let her out a lot it's perfectly fine. If she's happy and she is, then it's all good to me There's a huge difference between a tiny good for nothing cage and one like this. Of course it's not crazy wide but, it's still a good size. It's obviously not an aviary but I've seen many smaller cages on this forum. Eventually when I move out of my parent's house I'll build myself an aviary or have a birdroom. For now, in my bedroom this will do fine. Especially for just one birdie!

Harlequin And Fantasy?
Sure thing, I've just emailed them about it. Hopefully I get a reply.

Harlequin And Fantasy?
Yeah I had some idea of what a Harlequin was, wanted to double check but... fantasy is beyond me. *shrugs*

Harlequin And Fantasy?
A breeder in my area has a list of color types and prices and I was wondering what Harlequin and Fantasy refer to? Just so I know what I'm paying for. Thanks.

Chocolate Budgies
That's amazing!!! hahaha I almost fell off my chair. Newton and Napoleon love it! They're just chirping along. Thank you for that, it made my day.

Napoleon The Newcomer!
thank you! I'm going to convince my mom to drive me to the vet. The avian vet a little far from our house, but I'll bug her. She knows how much my birds mean to me so hopefully she'll take me seriously for once.

Napoleon The Newcomer!
i thought so too at first. But it seems to be more serious than that. Well... I have a feeling it is at least.

New Cage!
thanks for the advice Bea! I've seen some rope perches at the pet store but they seem awfully large, we've got two main pet stores around here so I'll pop by and take a look at what they've got.

Napoleon The Newcomer!
the droppings are completely normal. but they build up in the vent area occasionally.

Napoleon The Newcomer!
Upon further inspection tonight I found that his cloaca is really inflammed... it doesn't look normal at all. I'm getting more worried now. I'll definitely stop by the pet store tomorrow to get some and see if his condition improves, if not, I'll have to pay a visit to the vet. What's the name of the antibiotic you have? I'm not quite sure what to look for.

New Cage!
yeah none of the cages were wide really. I wanted to get ride of that green dresser and get the widest cage possible but the only one I found was completely out of my price range and not much bigger. And yes she certainly does. But she has her favorite spots at the top as well. It's a heck of a lot bigger than her old cage... and i'm so happy she actually has room now. I let her out a lot too. If I want to add natural branches, can I take some from outdoors? How would I go out disinfecting those?

Napoleon The Newcomer!
Just wondering, perhaps it's a stupid question but to get the antibiotics is it very expensive?? I'm not exactly flowing with money and i'm just curious.

New Cage!
I...ahem.. I mean Newton... has awaited a new cage for a long time. And finally this Christmas I scrounged up enough dough to buy a new one. It's lovely and it fits in my room without having to move any furniture around. Of course now that I've gotten this cage I'm already hungry for another, even though I only have 1 budgie in this large cage at the moment. I seem to have been bitten by the cage bug. At the same time that I was purchasing the cage I bought another budgie. He has been dubbed Napoleon. He's lovely but is in quarantine and Newton is all alone in the huge cage. Still, she seems to love it! I haven't got much in there yet since it's so big, but I'll be slowly and steadily collecting things to put inside, since I work next to a pet store it's easy to just pop by and buy something. Let's just say... my bank account is slowly dying hehe. Anyways, here's a picture of the cage. I was so happy to get it, I had a smile on my face all day! Hopefully Newton likes it as much as I do.

Napoleon The Newcomer!
Boxing day was a happy day. I got a big new cage for Newton and got her a friend. Napoleon is currently in a quarantine cage. I've been monitoring him carefully since I noticed his vent started getting dirty. I found that strange since he was completely clean for the first day and a half. After that he started getting dirty around his bottom. I'm keeping watch and monitoring his droppings. We shall see how that goes, may bring him to the vet soon, along with Newton who is due for a checkup. Anyways, here are some pictures! Newton in her new cage And Napoleon. He's a cutie. I fell in love with his colors and his curious nature while watching him at the pet store. He would not stand still and he chirps so much! Till later, -standbyme
