Male Budgie Chasing Female Back Into Nestbox.
that other hen isn't interested in him. The teddies I like to call them mr and mrs teddy have previously laid in breeding cabinets. I'm planning my cabinets next year for next year just saving for cage fronts. at the moment I debating weather tires on my car and wheel alignment or make these cabinets. I will be able to afford both by winter.

Male Budgie Chasing Female Back Into Nestbox.
Hey well today Tilly laid. This is working out good. do I remove nest box that is next to hers now she has choose hers. as I believe the other hen and male are being protective of the one next to Tilly's. or should I move Tilly's nest box some where else?

Budgies Won't Breed!
one more tip no perches above or on same level as nest boxes. I made this mistake. Also setup a shelf so the nest boxes will have no gap between the roof and nestboxes. So nest boxes squeeze in between the roof and shelf. this way no birds will be climbing on nestbox roof. if some of your nestboxes aren't the same size cut some old boards up and sit on top of them or bottom. this will fill the gap inbetween the roof and nestboxes that are smaller. Also setup your food a bit lower. Also I done what you done. with natural branches I done that. But I got annoyed with it. I setup 2 x "4x2" bits of wood on each side on a angle on each side. so highest at back lowest at front. Go to the hardware store and get some bits of 3 lengths of dowel. it cost me about 10 dollars for the dowel maybe a bit cheaper. Get some stainless steel self tapping screws. cut the dowel to the length of the cage now setup a back perch about 20mm space from back of aviary. screw each end into the 2x2. then cut another piece space it 20mm from the other perch. repeat steps. Now for your other perches use that other bit of dowel but now cut down smaller bits and put on that angled bit of 4by2 only do the left side, this will make it easy for you to enter cage. for my door entrance I have left these out. Also use some of your natural perches use stainless steel thin wire to make sure these perches stay where they are. I also use the cage wire to lock some of my branches into place. I Will take photos of my setup. I'm no expert just helping you out, because my cage setup is working.

Male Budgie Chasing Female Back Into Nestbox.
I think I worked it out I took Winston and Apples out. Kinda weird. situation. now there are only 2 pairs in there. the rest are in sexed cages. Seems to be a bit more mating going on with Tilly and Bart now the other birds have been removed. The other pair thats in there seems the Hen is going into condition so hopefully Bart boy will be busy not to worry about the other pair. Wish I could find breeding Cabinets in Tasmania so this wouldn't happen.

Male Budgie Chasing Female Back Into Nestbox.
I am have trouble with a very protective Male bird. He(Bart) was paired up with another female(Apples) and they was mating until a week ago. Then this protective male(Bart) is chasing the other male(Winston) that was paired up with Female(Tilly). Male(Winston) And Tilly(Female) have mated a few times before this. Male(Bart) then mated with Female(Tilly). Now Male(Bart) is keeping Female(Tilly), in nestbox while feeding other Female(Apples). Female(Tillys) dropping are large. I am Unsure if I should take Male(Bart) out or leave him in. Female(Apples) should be laying by now, would this mean she is out of condition? There is only 3 pairs in the aviary.

New Aviary
I support you. from what I have seen it looks like you need shelfs at same level. Also when placing boxes think of how much space you would like between you and your neighbors house in scale with relation to boxes. thats about 2 inch each box spacing. you would get away with 12 birds in that aviary. 12 breeding boxes. maybe. Just do it how you please. I know allot of colony breeding people they have there own ways. I use old coat hangers to hang my cuttle bone up, and hang silver beet on some of the cuttle bone. Just keep young ones out of the aviary I have noticed they seem to annoy adult birds.

Cage Shelter Shelfs
planning on getting more of these cages once I fully cover the sides. Would budgies be safe down the bottom?

Cage Shelter Shelfs
I needed a solution to separate the young from the aviary this was my solution. 3 shelfs that will eventually have cover on the lower shelfs. will be getting a clear plastic for front that I can roll up on sunny days. This cost me nothing as I salvaged wood from a rubbish tip with a wood pile. planning on making some more shelfing for my storage needs. H. 1.8 , W. 800 D. 600

Euthanasia.....a "forbidden" Topic
Thats why miners used to use canaries in the mine shaft, if the bird dies down there it was there warning signal of carbon dioxide leaks. the car method would be the easiest and most safest way. I have drowned mice and they take ages to die that way, would imagine it would be like suffocating a poor budgie. So when the time comes I know what I will use thanks who ever suggested car fumes.

Hen Sleeping In Aviary
hey this hen was sleeping all the time while the rest would play around her. She has 1 young one in the aviary cause this little one that looks like her follows her around all the time, she also has a mate in the aviary. I got all 3 birds from the same place so it could be a chance. I know she was in a breeding cabinet with her partner Mr teddy. I'm wondering if Mrs Teddies poo is healthy or not. Her diet is seed, spinach. Could she still be feeding the little one?

Facebook Warning..
Always pays to use firefox. Even try out a Linux distro for security purposes. if your not into gaming Linux is for you. I use linux on all my systems apart from gaming system. Windows is only going to get worse for virus's so your best off moving to linux now. Facebook itself is evil, I would never use the gossip, misinformation, ads that follow you around and the social illusion website, its a creepy website. data mined.
