Thanks! trefto, I really enjoy photography but its just a hobby of mine. I have a Canon rebel T3. I got it as a special that came with 2 lenses, one a 'normal' lense with just a tiny zoom, and one a 75-300 mm zoom lense. I'd like to get a longer lense but they are not cheap!

Kiwibudgie, I don't know much at all about budgie diseases, but his behavior sounds to me like he is getting more comfortable with his new home It is important that he eats because budgies are so small that they lose weight rapidly. I hope he is healthy and just needs some time to settle... Good luck with your little guy

Are you asking if its okay if your budgie's poo is darker than normal? If yes... it is probably fine. My budgie's poo varies in color. As long as it is solid and a shade of green it is probably nothing to worry about

robyn, my budgie eats lettuce all the time, its his favorite veggie, and he never has diarrhea...

If he isn't even eating seeds, I think it would probably be best if you didn't offer him any fruits/veggies until he is settled into his new home and eating his seeds. You can clip a spray of millet near wherever he likes to perch in his cage. Most budgies can't resist it, and it is better than eating nothing. Once he is totally comfortable in his cage and eating seed, then introduce veggies. I also think it is best to choose one kind of veggie and offer it repeatedly (every day). Budgies don't recognize new things as food and so they don't eat it. But if you put one kind of veggie in the cage every day eventually your budgie should get curious and nibble on it. Good luck

Allen, my budgie, loves any kind of music. In fact, he seems to like loud noises in general LOL. If the house is quiet he gets nervous (I live in a rather noisy household.) He loves it when I sing or read to him and as I said he loves musc So it is probably a good idea to play music for your budgie if he seems to like it. Allen made his first sounds while I was reading to him

I agree with what everyone else has said. When I brought home my little budgie (also hand fed) he didn't eat at first or drink. After a little while he would eat spray millet but he still was nervous and not moving around his cage at all; I was totally freaked out (Why isn't he drinking?? He should be drinking and playing and chirping!!!) LOL He didn't actually start making any sound for several days. And it also took a couple days for him to get used to moving around in his cage, but because he was hand fed and used to people he would come out and climb around on me even before he was comfortable in his cage! So I wouldn't worry about your little budgie. He loos healthy to me and as long as he's eating he should be fine. Budgies dont drink a lot of water anyway, and they can go for a little while without water. He will find his water eventually. Good luck! Cado looks like a very sweet little budgie!

He is an adorable little fellow Is that him in your profile picture too? It is excellent that he is hand fed! I got my little budgie Allen from Finnie and he was hand-fed and tame when I got him. I definitely think that getting a hand fed budgie is worth it It was so much easier to tame him than I'd expected. Good luck with your little guy!
