Dr Ross Perry - Best International Avian Vet Who Offers Phone Consulta
I just wanted to share about a wonderful vet who has helped me tremendously with many aspects of my budgie's Blessing's health. His name is Dr Ross Perry and he is sought after worldwide as an avian vet. Dr Perry has recently released a book called "Doctor Ross Perry's Budgie Book" which can be purchased on this website: http://www.goldcoast...soft-cover.html I can't recommend this book highly enough. Dr Perry also has a youtube channel where he broadcasts veterinary consultations with budgies and other birds, so that we can all benefit from his advice and expertise. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf-dbGoq12_YgIuFLnS1EgQ He lives in Australia but offers remote consultations to clients worldwide for $50 per 15 minute timeslot (he manages to fit a LOT into that amount of time). He lives in a different state than me, so I sometimes make phone or Skype appointments with him to receive top quality bird advice and I do this in conjuction with also going to my local avian vet whenever necessary (she is in awe of Ross). This is where I book my appointments: http://www.goldcoast...-ichat-etc.html I just thought I really should let you all know about this wonderful vet whose passion is to increase people's understanding of how to love and care for their pet birds in a holistic manner.

KatinaWoodruff-Roberts replied to KatinaWoodruff-Roberts's post in a topic in Bringing Home A New BudgieThat's great news Scala! I'm so glad they are settling in nicely. I'm sure they will bring you endless amounts of joy. We've had our budgie for 18 months now and couldn't imagine life without him!

Introducing My Budgie
Thank you for your lovely comments! We're falling more in love with him by the minute! His cage is a Vision cage, and I had to order it from overseas. After shopping around I found a small pet store in America that does the best international postage rates. I would be happy to share their contact details.

Introducing My Budgie
Hi everyone! Three days ago I picked up our budgie "Blessing" and he is settling into our home so well. Here is a picture of him and his special friend at the parrot breeder's home, and also a picture of him in his new cage here at home. Thank you for all of the advice you have offered me as I've made preparations for our little boy.

Seeding Grasses
Here is the little grass patch I'm growing on our balcony. Blessing LOVES eating the wheatgrass. I've only had him for three days and hope he may acquire a taste for these other grasses too .

First Night With New Budgie
KatinaWoodruff-Roberts replied to KatinaWoodruff-Roberts's post in a topic in Bringing Home A New BudgieThank you so much for asking Finnie! We actually decided to wait until after Christmas before we get a bird after finding out that some family with small children will be visiting us soon from interstate. We want the house to be nice and calm when our little bird settles in with us :-). We've already reserved a baby budgie that will be ready for purchase in January and are so excited!

First Night With New Budgie
This evening my husband and I are picking up our first budgie, who is a male and 9 weeks old. We will arrive home with him at about 8 pm so I expect he will go to bed shortly after arriving home, and would therefore not have much time to become oriented in his new cage before bed. Should I leave a lamp on overnight for him in case he wakes up and can't remember where his food and water is, or would the light stress him out? I have sewn a lightweight cage cover for him also - would his second night home be the right time to start using this? Thank you for your advice.

Boiled Eggs?
How much egg should you feed at a time to a pet budgie, and how frequently?

Seeding Grasses
Hello everyone. I'm about to get my first budgie and want to give him the very best life possible. I've been advised that feeding him seeding grasses would be even better than sprouted seeds. What seeding grasses are good to grow in pots, and do you buy them at normal plant shops? I'd really appreciate any advice! Thank you so much.
