Second chick opened its eyes today and they are red! yay. No other eggs have hatched yet and don't think any more will, but keeping my hopes up.

I know how you feel, I was using a supermarket brand too, and my little Charlie died because of the seed I was feeding him. So I looked at every seed I cold get and I saw trill and it looked good I thought but since reading this I changed to a seed diet with plenty of variety and adding extra fruit and vegies, I thought that everyone fed a bird fruit and vegies but I am surprised that there is a lot of people that just feed their budgies black and gold brand and no fruit and vegies. So if you read this and don't feed your little budgie fruit and veg and a good seed diet, please do.

okay thanks, she has finally fed them I was thinking of putting a millet spray in there but wasn't sure it was okay, and I think he has been feeding her but she eats the seed an carrot I put outside her box.

okay, the mother hasn't fed the two chicks since yesterday morning, im worried, she's in there but she wont feed them there chirping for food but she just sits there. HELP!!!!!!!!!

Hello, update time!! The first babies eyes opened this arv and they are so cute! and they aren't red. However I strongly believe that the 2nd chick has red eyes. Well I am hoping the 3rd egg hatches tomorrow. From Budgie_Mad

well i looked at the younest (#2) and it had red eyes, however the oldest is black.

Addorable budgiesyou have there i am just like you our babies are the sameage andi only have two, however yours arent the same clourmine are creamino and purple!!

okay thanks,well to me I personally havent looked at the newchicks eyes, howver the oldest appears dark, however this could be wrong as i have been wrong before and i dont have to much knowledge on sexing baby budgies. Thanks for the help with pics too. I think i know how now next chick will be a better quality photo too!

Yes mixie is the father and a crema-ino and if that's the case then yes! but better news 2nd chick just arrived!!!!! She is feeding with no mess vents are clean every time I have checked and that her nest keeping is clean no poops of hers. YAY!! The motheris doing such a good job feeding it when needed pretty much always in the nest box, the second egg is due to hatch this arv o tomorrow. Yes i have seen them at 3 weekson the internet adn they are adorable. I am so happy i have wanted these for 2 years now!

The chick looks like its grown over night!! everyone thinks its ugly but I actually find it quite cute =o.
