Show Budgie Breeders
I know two breeders that have never spent a lot on budgerigars, yet they have won many grand championship awards, simply because of there skill as breeders. They produce quality birds year after year without spending a fortune, they are true breeders of budgerigars, not buyers of budgerigars. Hi yes it appears that on the big island that what you say may be true $$$$ count on many fronts We only spend money on purchases that we have made from sales of culls but they can be hard to move on some occasions as we only have a small population in tassie. We dont show to win (yes it is nice to win) we use it as a yardstick to measure improvement in our birds. I know this is a bit radical but maybe their should not be any winners but a grading system be introduced for example SUPERIOUR for top birds EXCELLANT for the next level GOOD, AVERAGE & POOR etc look forward to seeing other views. United Auction
Hi Devil, I will be selling them that day. Give me a ring if you need some eyes. Cheers PT Hi PT thanks for the offer our problem is that we have no idea of what they are bringing $ wise for what sort of quality. Would like to try for a paticular pair but have no idea of $$$ thats the worst of being a jump over the big pond. If you/or anybody can give us an idea it is appreciated. They do not have to be in top range but something that is a step up from where he is. He (Kyle that is) may have to wait until we come to melbourne to a certyain auction in JUNE YES WE ATTENDING in persons this year. no im not a cheapskate but want him to get value for his $ (I make him mow the lawn for his pocket/budgie money) CHEERS TAZ D

Our son (who is a mid range high functioning autistic) is trying to bred crests but is struggling as their are only one or two breeders of this variety in the state so it has been hard to get a start At the moment they are far from where he wants to be but it is a work in progress .TAZ Have photos will post when i work out how (computer illeriate but learning). Geelong Bird Sale & Demand For Budgies
Twisted,If you was to join a club & especially in Tassie, as they are short on good Budgie Breeders,I would think you will get all the help you need & the birds to breed with. Been in the club before Macka, and I know most of the breeders. I am coming back into the hobby, which I had to leave due to family health reasons. I have rung around and nobody has anything at the moment. One breeder will be culling in July and another in August. Another sent birds to Mainland auction last week. In the whole of Tasmania there is 9 open breeders and 8 intermediate breeders and quite a number of novice breeders, of which most are just in the club to get rings. So as you can see, not too many budgie breeders. I have already contacted half af them so its not from lack of trying. Also I don't think there are as many culls around these days. And like I said before, most of them are sending birds to the mainland auctions. Wish things were different but that's how things are here. Cheer, Twist. Twist if your are in Lonnie then you have not contacted me Had a heap of birds took them to animal tucker box and am sure if you approached the breeder that sent birds to the auction in Melbourne last week heb would have certainly helped you out as hes has helped us with quality birds at recently at a good price actually 80% of my bloodline is from this exhibitor.
