yeah i did have a quick look dean, thanks for the advice i think i will just let settle for a bit, it seems to be the best option at the moment. i really like some of the chicks you have coming through well done, all go for showing this year i take it? i probably should know this but can budgies breed all year around?

thanks dave that expalins alot not all of them are dark brown a couple are just starting to go the tannish colour but i had discounted them as not being ready......im really only new to this so forgive me.

they are 09 birds, the breeders told me they were of breeding age, im just curious as to why they havnt bred, the hens all seem to have dark brown ceres and the cocks keep scratching there beaks on the perches im told this is a sign? there is no rush at the end of the day if they dont breed now ill just wait untill next season i just thought that if anyone had any suggestions to help that it would be awesome

hey any help with this would be much appreciated, i have four pairs of show birds that i have brought within the last three months from reputable breeders but cant seem to get them to breed i have tried putting the hens in the box firstc for a few days to settle in before adding the cock, but i dont seem to have any luck what so ever, the only luck i have had is when i put one of the cocks with one of my pet types and got 5 fertile eggs which should be due any day now. im stumped so anyone who could help me maybe with ideas of any sort would be very welcome!!

she actually had a couple for sale haha but she convinced me to buy the pair i did maybe thats why

i have just put a new pair down in lieu of the grey cock dying will try mt best to get some pics up tommorrow, also i could be purchasing some new birds from a top breeder within the next few weeks so exciting times! apart from that i have returned two pairs to the flights after having a successful round they were only pet types though but the experience i gained from breeding them will help me when my exhibition types get going, the green pair appear to have bonded well and the hen appears to spend alot of her time within the nesting box so fingers crossed there, the new pair are a cinn green hen x dilute green cock by the way

yeah ithought albino too, eyes look kind of red although ive only looked when there was poor lighting in the breeding room, looks all white to me too as far as i can see, ill have to post more pics as the chick gorws. its from violet parents if that helps in any way?

heres another chick from another one of my pairs only got the one chick unfortunately but owell, im having some trouble pinpointing exactly what colour it is maybe someone on here may know ill try to get some updated pics of the chicks i posted earlier in the thread some have come out quite nice:D

these are my latest pairs to be put down, im expecting big thngs from them here they are tell me what you guys think; pair 1: light green normal cock and the dark green normal hen and pair 2: grey opaline cock and dark green hen: more pairs to come. with a bit of luck i should get some nice chicks from these pairs, i have a couple more pairs whom i will put down just before xmas when they are just over a year old;)
