  2. They are gorgeous!
  3. Well done!!!!!! Great pics. You must have a room just for trophy's.
  4. Oh no! Will you stop breeding this pair? Has it happened before? Are they 1st time parents?
  5. Very scary indeed. Try and relax with a glass of wine and be thankful, it sounds like it could have been worse. :sadsorry: Hope he have as quick a recovery as possible.
  6. They are gorgeous!!!!!
  7. This is very sad. You gave her a wonderful life and she had so very many beautiful chicks. Sorry. :sadsorry:
  8. You need to get a clear picture of its cere (above the beak where the nostrals are) in good light.
  9. I thought I was the only person who had a dearly loved hen hang herself on a rope toy! All cut off now but the horse has bolted. Last week my daughter was moving the babies to a nursery cage and one got away from her and flew like an f one eleven over the horizon!
  10. Knowing what can happen in a breeding season, I would expect anything. Go on, buddy, spill the beans. We will understand what you are going through The oldest of the two surviving chicks developed splayed legs (both). I was applying the sponge method to correct this and all was going well when the chick gave a massive kick, squirmed around and I dont know how it happened but trying not to drop the thing I somehow broke its leg right at the hip joint. It was CLEARLY broken and I had to euthanize it. I was so beyond belief at that point. I had told myself I could handle ALL the other stuff going on because I had those two lovely babies. And then because I somehow muffed up the sponge thing, I had to kill one of the two babies who were keeping me from really getting down about things. So I was NOT prepared mentally for that! Hit me really hard. She was going to be such a beauty, i just know it. Her sister has a lot riding on her now lol. You know what the funny thing is, at first I thought "no more budgie ANYTHING tonight, im DONE". But somehow I ended up here blabbing on about violets and I couldnt help but feel better. Man I love these silly birds! I'm really sorry to here that I have just applied Kaz's sponge method to 3 of mine. I have my fingers crossed. Good luck with your remaining chick!

Do these frogs excrete a toxin?
  12. What is Ivermectin and where do you buy it?
  13. I dont know about the texture or shiny-ness of the cere. It can vary from day to day. The whitish ones just have a habit of not looking as shiny due to the colour. Is there any reason that you know of why you produce many more females than males?
  14. these babies are exquisite
  15. Will try to attend....used to belong to a club many years ago but have taken up the hobby again as my daughter is interested. I always try to buy good quality birds that have come from breeders even if they are just for my own enjoyment. Cheers
  16. Do you have to be a member of a club to attend the auction?
  17. I hope he does not have canker as this can end badly. An experienced bird vet can take a swab and look under a microscope to see if there is anything sinister. The neck stretching is what disturbs me. Good luck.
