  1. hi I recently did some research on mutations and got a little confused about dilutes and greywings. They seem pretty much the same except for the level of dilution, so couls they be factors of each other? Like, greywing is single factor because it produces the least dilution and dilute be double factor beacuse it produces the most diution. Sort of like spangle, how single factor sort of hollows out marking and bodycolour and double factor completly removes them. just throwin it out there, but hey, mabye im a genius

Hi i live in NSW and if you live on the east coast(Newcastle specifically) you will know how disgusting this weather is at the moment. Well my two budgies have been preening each other and the hen has been in and out of the nesting box constantly. When she is not in the box she is standing on the perch on the front or sitting next to the cock. She doesn't seem to want to mate because i've never seen them do it and the male is always trying to mate with the the perch :happy-dancing: lol. so will they mate or is the hen just obsessing? And if so will the chicks survive this horrible weather? Also what is the the thing with my male i mentioned earlier about him trying to mate with the perch. He gets in the corner of where the perch meets the cage and........goes for it. any ideas? thanks for reading Jeddo.
  14. i agree you should breed him hes a nice one. I just got new budgie today too so they can be buddies
  15. Hey Shannon nice aviary. you have such beautiful birds(sounds wussy i know but its the only word i can think of) but these were the ones that stood out for me, would love to see some shots and some shots of their babies as well.
  16. everyone came from monkeys
  17. i was thinking about this the other day i remember learning that birds evolved from dinosaurs but the pterosaurs didt just turn into budgies in 100 years i want to know what came between the dinosaur and the modern budgie If anyone can tell me i would appreciate it
  18. thats not the case i housed the green HEN with the yellow faced gray cock for a little while then got a new hen and moved the green HEN in with my blue cock (whos a funny little one) and the yellow faced gray cock with the new hen( who is gray.) now the yellow face seems to be more interested in the green hen. i was wondering whether i should put the green hen with the yellow faced cock.
  19. but should i put them together? or should i leave the yellow face gray with the normal gray because they don't seem interested in each other and the yellow face is more interested in the green
  20. hey guys!! i currently have a type 2 yellow face gray opaline cock with a normal gray hen in my large cage with breeding box.my normal green hen and the gray cock were housed together for a while before a got the gray hen and put her and the cock in the big cage with a breeding box and left the green hen next to them in a smaller cage and now the green and the gray seem to talk to each other through the cages and the gray hen stays away from the cock. the cock bird seems to want to breed because he ummm..... does things with one of the perches....like trys to mate with it(dunno how that would feel!!). so i was wondering if i should put them together and if they breed what would the babies look like?? just so that your sure it would be normal green hen x type 2 yellow face gray opaline get back to me on this one :hi: :emoticon112:
