  1. I just purchased some more of the original roofing Julie & shingled it under the existing roof and re-tech screwed it down. The extension is 600ml long and it is slid under, past the tech screws aprox 50 ml.I was going to support it on the ends ,but honestly it doesn't need it,we have had some bad winds lately & rain,no problem at all with it,$78.00 further investment worth every cent.
  2. The first of the chicks was hatched on the 18/03/10 ,they have my ring on them .I live in NSW ,Southern Highlands near Mittagong.
  3. As far as perches go ,just use dowel from your local hardware.I have two flights in my aviary ,i used normal house framing timber for the dividers then painted them with white semi gloss.I put some pictures of my aviary to give you some ideas, the awning is a new addition ,keeps the rain out.
  4. Bargain well done Maddy.
  5. >Spangles<,two grey green & a light green spangle. The mother was a white yellow face double factor spangle.
  6. Those birds have good feather Julie, here is a picture of the father.
  7. If your interested in these three cocks, all brothers same nest.I will sell them to you for $200 i am keeping all the sisters, they are off my best cock bird.Trouble is your in Brisbane, they are not bad birds for the price in my opinion. All birds in the photo's are the same three birds.

Considering the quality of Marks birds,i don't think he has to.
  10. Keep them in the cabinets Julie just take the nest boxes away.It won't hurt leaving them in the cabinets for another month or so until it warms up a bit.All my hens are in cabinets, i won't put the cocks in for a while yet.
  11. 14. No noise,it's to quite.
  15. I am yet to visit an aviary, that does not feed grit. The Two Australian breeders Kelwyn Kakoschke & Henry George are probably two of the best breeders in Australia ,they feed grit,& Gerald Binks feeds it,& he has one of the top ten studs in the UK.So you tend to think that these breeders have got it right .
  16. I have been to Marios and seen hes birds,i don't particularly like recessive pieds ,but he has the best ones i have ever seen .
  17. No it doesn't warp, but that said mine are inside and have three coats of paint.Regarding the trays all you have to do if you look at the picture above "those front boards" just get the supplier to skim a bit off the bottom of each one & that will give you the gap you need for the trays.

  19. I notice you are in Adelaide Squeak ,i am not sure if there is a "Mr plywood franchise" there or not.If there is, or a similar plywood dealer they will usually do all the cutting for you,so basically all you have to do is take it home glue, screw, sand & paint. This one cost $350 for all the plywood supplied and cut, note:> this was a special order to fit into a particular space,i could have actually got it made wider for the same price. If you like i can send you a copy of the plans via pm.
  20. They will breed in it Squeak, they will be wide enough, but no quite as high & as deep as i would prefer. You can make a comparison with the picture i suppose.

  22. Everone i talk to lately regarding the national auction tells me there busted "money wise".Maybe they should change it till after the end of the financial year that way everyone has probably got there tax return, just a thought.

There smart enough to know who feeds them, everytime i go into my aviary i could have up twenty plus birds on me,when anyone else goes into my aviary they don't go near them.
