My Budgie The Clown
Dash is just hilarious, I never knew pet budgies could be sooooooo entertaining :camera: Here he is climbing up the back of the ladder and then trying to squeeze through Here he is playing with a gumnut, he sometimes carries them in his beak, the other day he climbed up the ladder with one in his beak Sometimes he gets mad at them and will pick it up, walk with it and throw it off the table This is him getting a head scratch from his bell, he pushed it so it would swing around gently and he would then rub his cheek and head against it silly boy he loves his bells, talks to them, sings to them etc And this is him sitting down (doesn't happen very often  ), any more ideas on his mutation, I realise his green looks bright green but to me it is more like the colour jade or light olive, he is getting lots of dark yellow feathers on his face and chest and especially on the back of his head so guessing he is a YF2 mutation correct? He has so many pins on his head at the moment poor thing

Aviary For Sale/advice Needed
that is a great looking aviary, I'd advertise it on Perth Gumtree first instead of Ebay or put in the Quokka. I reckon you could get about $250 for it........

How Did You Name Your Budgie?
naming is so hard, isn't it I have had to come up with so many names for birds lately, I've run out of ideas Most our birds have had names to do with their colours. We have Meg, which is gaelic for pearl, she is a whiteface pearl tiel, Noah was named just because we liked that name, Mango is a yellow pied pearl, Saffron is his brother a yellow pied, Shadow is our new whiteface girl tiel, she is pretty much all grey, Coco is our other new girl tiel, a cinnamon whiteface pearl, Coco after coconut as she is white with brown We had another tiel who now lives with Libby, his name is Riley, again because we liked the name and the two budgies that now live with Libby are Indy, named after our Indian Ocean (yep you guessed it he is blue) and Midori and yes, indeed, he is green Dash was named because he is so dashingly handsome But yeah, post a picture and perhaps we can all give some suggestions?

Me And My Menagerie
You mind me asking if you are northern suburbs?? What mutation tiel is it? If it is a grey, could you please let me know, my friend lost her two greys, one male, one female about 6 weeks ago now, both were semi-tame and they were the offspring of my two breeding tiels....... Unfortunately being ordinary greys it will be near impossible to accurately identify apart from the girl, who had some distinct pied markings on the back of her head. Thanks

Teflon Scare
I was preheating my oven today and as I walked back in I could smell that something on the bottom of the oven was burning (I am not very good at cleaning my oven )...... I looked over to Dash, who is in the gamesroom which is next to the familyroom/kitchen area (all open plan) and he was making a gagging motion I took him straight out of the room, brought him into our spare room, opened the window wide and within a second he was breathing fine again but BOY!!! I got a huge scare!!! I had just read this post a few days ago so remembered reading about the gagging motion (thank you Krosp)....... Gee I didn't think ovens were teflon coated???? On a different note, what do you guys all think of gas heaters? And I mean the standard bar heaters, not the flued type.........

Im Getting My First Baby Budgie
I've had my baby boy for 2 months now and he is just the funniest He imitates my son's whistle, he whistles what sounds like the last bit of "pop goes the weazel" (which is what I whistle to him a lot :emoticon112: and he mutters to himself, don't know what he is saying but he is trying. He is not cuddly and won't sit on your hand or shoulder for very long but he is sooooooo entertaining We have a little playgym for him which is a few metres away from his cage and as soon as you open his cage he is out! Straight over to his gym. We sit with him and watch him play, he has a few gumnuts lying around (his playgym is on top of a large table that has some of the kids' toys on it) and he jumps on the gumnut, carries it in his beak, drops it, rolls over the top of it just hilarious So welcome here and yeah, enjoy, I say!

New Here
Hi all I am new here and am the owner of one gorgeous budgie called Dash. Dash is only young still, approx 12 weeks old so must be getting close to his first molt I have two other budgies, two males, but they are going to be living (and hopefully breeding) at Libby's soon Husband and I have just recently decided that the boys should really have the opportunity to breed if at all possible instead of spending their lives in a patio aviary together (although they seem perfectly content ) We have cockatiels too that we do breed with and don't have time or space for more aviaries to breed budgies as well (I would like to, but really can't  ) This is our handsome Dash, I was told he is a cinnamon olive green recessive pied but Libby just totally confused me by telling me his in fact a blue series YF2 but he is indeed cinnamon recessive pied Here he is And here he is sitting on my own homemade playgym And yes, he IS a boy, there appear to be white rings around his nostrils but that's the flash, his cere is as purple as can be
