Hi All my feathered friends just thought I would do a journal of what has been happening so for with this being year 1 at the moment I have 19 birds with 8 nest boxes , I had 12 nest boxes but nobody used the other 4 so I have removed them as they were above the others . at the moment I have 1 box with 4 babies and another 4 on the way , the next box has 7 eggs 1 box with 5 eggs and 1 with 3 eggsI had to remove one of the other hens as she wanted the box with the babies so I put her and her mate in a breeding cabinet that Dave Mc Minn gave me and they seem as though they are ready to nest . Now before you all ask I will try to get photos of the pairs when I can get the birds to stay still enough , but hey birds will be birds in a aviary so they won't stay still and the only pics I have been able to get are either through the wire or out of focus .Ross Here is a couple of the pics I have. nest box 2 box 1 sorry it is out of focus

  3. I will let you know Dave how I get on at your vet as the local here wanted to see the bird first and I would say he would addminister it . Ross
  4. I have found out that 1 of my dirds has scaley face which I am getting ivermectin tomorrow I hope . Where do the mites come from and can I prevent them from coming back ? . I want to make sure that all the birds in my aviary are treated and there is no chance of it coming back. Ross
