In the first picture you can see the dark colour above his beak that goes between his nostrils and his whitish nostrils. Sorry for the blur, he kept moving his head. In the second picture you can see that the white comes from the corner and you can also see the dark colour underneath his nostrils.- Change In Cere Colour..
Sorry for all the confusion on the cere colour Nibbles cere does look a bit like Pretty's cere, but the pink is a bit darker. Finally, we have some photos. I hope they are clear enough to get a good look. He wasn't in photo taking mood this morning:P I can get some more pictures if needed. Please tell me ASAP though, because my sister in taking her camera to the Harry Potter movie later on today.- Change In Cere Colour..
In taking a closer look, don't think there is any brown colour on his cere, but I am still not 100% sure. It's definitely turned into a darker pink, and the area leading from his nostrils to the corners of his cere at the top are white. Pictures are coming soon :what:- Count Down

Yup. I am sure he's 3 years old. I bought him on the 3rd May 2006 I'll have pictures first thing tomorrow morning. Hopefully he'll let me take some good pictures, he wasn't to happy with me looking at his cere before - Change In Cere Colour..
Had a closer look at his cere just then. The area around his nostrils is a white colour and the area underneath and in between his nostrils is a dark pinky red colour. Unfortunately they'll be no photo's till tomoorow as my sister camera is charging so I can't use it.- Change In Cere Colour..
Well, dark red may be a bit over the top  Going to go pester my sister about her camera.- Change In Cere Colour..
Will try my best to get a picture as soon as I can.- Change In Cere Colour..
Can do and can just indicate a hormonal imbalance.Well, I wouldn't say that his cere is brown, it's just a colour that is unusual.. its more a dark red colour. Very hard to explain. So once I can get a picture, I'll post it.- Change In Cere Colour..
I am pretty sure he's male, although sometimes I have my doubts. I am sure when I can get a picture it'll clear some things up, and I am pretty sure it's nothing to be concerned about, but you never know - Change In Cere Colour..
I am not expert on telling the sex of budgies, but many people have told me his male, and he gets jiggy with his toys ALOT Here is a picture of him that I took in Feburary: He also talks very well, which I've been told is more of a boy thing, and doesn't bite very hard.- Change In Cere Colour..
Recently my 3 year old budgie's cere has changed from a pink to a light brownish pink . It's not all over his cere, it's mostly just under his nostrils. The area above his nostrils is a whitish pink, which makes him look like he's actually a girl, but he is definitely a boy. I'll try to get some pictures in the next day or too, when my dad returns home with the camera. He looks and is acting perfectly healthy, but I am just wondering what this could be, or if this is actually anything to worry about? There is no build up on his cere. I've read that if a boy budgies cere goes brown its a sign of testicle cancer? His cere hasn't gone brown though, its just change from a picture to a whitish brownish pink I should be able to get some photo's by tomorrow.- Corina's Birds
Zu-Zu is so cute  Beautiful budgies!- Camping With The Little One
I went through the same dilema as you! My family and I were going to Tasmania for a holiday, and as we live in New South Wales, the only way there was by boat or plane. I couldn't stand to leave my little budgie in the care of someone else for 3 weeks so he had to come with us. My budgie survived a 12 hour boat trip in our car in the car area of the boat which just above the water level with no heating other than the heat that was in the car, and he was fine So I believe that you little birdy should be fine. A hot water bottle underneath the cage and a warm cover should be alright... perhaps you could run a battery run heater? I wish you best of luck. Budgies are one tough little birds, try not to worry too much! - Change In Cere Colour..
