  1. Thanks. I searched for it, but didn't see anything. Sorry, I'll look harder next time.
  2. I've been looking around the two petshops that are close by to me (pets paradise & pet center) and I can't seem to find the iodine that can be added to the drinking water for birds. I can only find iodine blocks and to tell you the truth, all my bird does with blocks of minerals is play with them or totally ignore them and not use them, so I think it would be pretty pointless for me buy him one. Does anyone know of any places that sell liquid iodine? And could someone tell me roughly how much it would cost for a bottle? Thanks
  3. I know that we all have different opinions, but I bought Nibbles from a chain pet shop and I couldn't be happier with him. He was quite easy to tame and he is the most lovely chatty little boy. But I guess if I was to buy another budgie then I would buy him/her from a breeder as I prefer my money not to go to a chain store. As well as in the beginning the birds theat you see in a pet shop do come from a breeder.
  4. My budgie does this too. After I turn the lights off and he is in the dark, he'll start to climb around the sides of his cage for a couple of minutes. I have a feeling it because in your case, and mine as well, our budgies like to sleep on their 'top perch' and that they are just trying to find their way to their top perch in the dark. I am pretty sure it's nothing to be worried about. Nibbles does it quite often, and he's fine.
  5. I don't want to sound paranoid.. but his cere is still the same and it's been like 3-4 months. Is this still normal?
  6. Yes. I think a curio cabinet is just what he needs!
  7. Nibbsy has learnt a new trick! He learnt it on the way to melbourne in the car He can pick up his bell with his beak and run from side to side of his cage! Here is a little clip of him with his trick in action: Nibbles Trick Enjoy
  8. He is so adorable
  9. I've always liked the name 'Archie' (are-chee) Goodluck deciding on a name
  10. Nope. Have you ever eaten a budgie poo?
  11. Alright, well thats good to know. I should really stop being so paranoid about these kind's of things, but then if something was ever wrong with him and I ignored i would be very angry with myself Thankyou all for your help. Just one last question, whats the average time that he'll be out of breading condition? (just curious, I don't breed bird but my sister wants to know..)
  12. A month or two ago I made a thread on this site asking about my budgerigar's cere colour. I was told that it was fine and stopped worrying about it. A month or two has passed now, and nothing has changed with his cere, if anything it has gotten worse. The area around his nostrils are a whitish colour. The area on the sides of his cere is more of a redish colour and the area between his nostrils is slightly brown. Here are a few pictures of his cere. Some of them you can get a better look at the cere if you look at his reflection in the mirror (only way I could make him stay still :thankyou:). Anyone have any idea of what's up with him? Is it normal for him to be going through? If so, will it stay like that forever? & if there is somethng wrong, should i take him to the vet, or is it something i can treat at home? Thanks!
  13. Aww. I just want to give him a huge hug He's a beauty!

It's not, he just gets it sometimes when he out of the cage and someone is eating toast, etc. He still gets loads of greens + his seed
  18. Very exiting!

  24. Yup, I am just wondering how often people change the perches in their cages/aviaries? & should natural perches me changed more often than dowel perches? Thanks
