I Wish I Had An Air Conditioned Bird Room-
well my birds all went to ground yesterday i totally was beside myself i got my mist spray bottle and went inside the aviry and started spraying i lost to chicks to my own stupid fault just hatched too as i removed all the nest box doors for ventilation and placed them hard up inside the cages against the wire but two chicks fell out onto floor of aviry and were dead before i could save them another older chick savived so i amediatly went to work cutting cardbord and putting air holes in it as light weaight replacment doors i dont normally breed through dec to march but this year put a few birds down in the end i removed all birds back into aviry and placed all newly hatched chicks between two pairs that are coping well with the heat i am altanating chicks dayly resting one pair then returning chicks resting other pair two chicks are left with the resting pair at all times their is seven alternating chicks all up this is not a normal practic of mine i normally would not interfear with chicks at all but in this case for birds and chicks i belive it is best they all seem less stressed and the chicks better fed today i made some copper mess doors and replaced the full doors with them all hens and chicks so much better for this as the air flow is constent i replace doors at night and up at 5 am to replace with mess ones for day i placed shallow dishes of water all over the floor and refill every time they become warm the birds sit in them some even lay down in them fresh water mellon and cellery tomartos have been welcomed taking them out after an hour and mist spray every hour and hose aviry down once at around 2 pm wetting the shade cloth down i find the hot wind the worse so have decided to hang my bamboo blinds a few centermeters off the wire and keep them down to stop the warm breeze birds were way better today than yesterday so i must be doing something right oh drilled holes in roof to let heat through big diffrents with that got to go been told lol

Warning Or Coincidence
myself snap kaz i would say that you should see if you can remember the significance to the house in your dream ie did you remember that home percificlly or were their others you clearly remember walking past if its a place you pass regually or if it was a random house most dreams alert you to your insecuritys and fears take a closer look at the dream then reavaluate the whole cenario i say gut feelings are spot on so how did your gut feel in the dream did the house make you feel adiffrent in anyway or did it feel happy as you passed it even though you were fighting dreams are very detailed and only if every detail is noted can you really know what it is saying or about

Do You Breed French Moult?
i dont even do show birds and i think their no use i dont care how they get it it really doesnt matter its not something that can be cured and personally i think that although i cant kill anything if they were all killed at first sighn of this terrable whatever than it would be wiped out thats if it is a viris as its not due to mite or feather mite moths or any other bug with legs just my opinion and if it was a viris only then it would be curerable it is not it is rececive some how when i was younger a man i knew killed his french molters straight at first sighn and anything else in that nest he killed the breeding pair also he said to me that what ever anyone says to me, french molt is hereditery; not a viris. Through interbreeding to the finest point ''' they were his exact words he also said that in his whole 30 years breeding he never ever came across it in his stock intill he interduced a cross breed bird who had been the rezult of many father back bred birds to produe what him and his mate belived to be a genetic purety of a certain traight he said the result in end cost him many a new chick and ended up desposing of every last bird documented to be bred from these first purer traite ones back over the years the french molt started although i didnt really understand what he ment by purer traite birds it did clearly suggest to me when looking apon his recorlds that he was corect to say the french molt did not exist intill thoughs birds were brought into his clan so .... and after he had disposed of all of them by looking back at his birds historys his stock was once again free from it i was sold ..and i have never worryed about my birds catching it as i dont belive the viris thing more fool me if it is true but i have never had a probblem with it yet knock on wood

Do You Breed French Moult?
i have read many things but all conflickeding i never knew an adult could catch it that makes a big diffrence on the whole matter you sure they were not just born with it but did not show sighns in nest ?

Looking Ahead
when i said move them on i was not meaning to other breeders i ment as pets i think it is great you are so comited to your birds i myself if i got a life threatning ilness in my aviry that could not be cuered as thats what i thought you ment i would slowly have all birds tested and the ones who were ill anethasised as not to spread it to other birds ingeneral wild or aviry if it was cureable of course i would persist with treatment and reacese as you are doing i wish you the best i asumed they were always going to get reinfected always leaving your healthy stock at risk if that was the case their would be no garentee which of your birds were viris free their for selling birds could infect others stock latter when the viris is dormant then flears up in what ever time it feels like their for breeding for retail would be wrong in my veiw not unless you could be sure all your birds had a healthy bill of health garenteed which with out getting each bird tested before selling it would and this is only by sounds of it be a risk to the buyer but you seem to know exactly what your doing and looking at things you seem very responsable so all my best and good luck mate

Do You Breed French Moult?
im not sure what the cause is but i have never breed a french molt bird although i got a fright when i had my first plucked chicks thought the had caught french molt through a viral infection as i had fostered someone else chicks that did turn out to be french molters i do not belive it is viral i belive it is through very long lines of interbreeding and backcrossing with out introducing enough new blood lines basiclly line breeding with out the proper knolage to know when to stop and how close is to close geneticlly wize but the despute over viris mite inbreeding will always stand in my case i just had a ***** hen decided she wanted the chicks out before their time as dad payed them more atention i sold both mum and dad regardless and the owner of the french molters littrally culled them sad but myself i would not kill chicks with it if i ever did get this but i would never breed with them i belive it is a genetic weakness and it is rececive from what i have seen in others avirys but some of thoughs avirys are very clean an mite or feather might can not be the cause but from where i stand these certain breeders do tend to inter breed to far but not for me to say i just dont buy my stock from them nomater how fantastic it may be as i know i will find stock with detailed history of proply bred back crossed birds with no hereditry weaknesses geneticlly if it was a virus my whole flock would have had it just through regergitating food to and from eachother when all in large flight as i dont quarineteen after breeding i just return birds aned chicks to the apropriate aviry french molt chicks make good pets when their feathers recover thats about it in my view not good breeding stock as weather genetic or viris it will still be passed on through out generation causing unwell birds forever us the breeders have the ability to over look this or to stop it i choose to stop it

Hello
the other option is to either take them back and express your concern get your money back and buy healthy birds or you could just rehouse them and start again i brought a french molter and didnt relize till i got home as she flew fine when i was looking at the birds it was a pet shop bird i rehoused her after having her for a few months cause i had a friend whos son wanted a pet that would just stay where he was she just loved her new home she didnt like me much funny that she died 2 months after while she was getting bird sat broken heart i think she loved thoughs kids if you have time they make great pets and are just a bit more dependent but shouldnt be much extra work just keep them healthy and have all the usuall iodine bell cuttle bone and a tiny bit of either cod liver or linseed one a month in their seed just mix it throw and let sit 15 mins before feeding only like a few drops for two birds good luck what ever you do
