i belive you will get yf colbalt doms some yf par blues sky and cobalt and mabe some normal skyblues or cobalts but i think mainly dom type 2 cobalts or type 2 parblues cobalt that cock looks to me as if he is only cobalt holding violet so the chicks unless your very lucky wont be violet but possably sky violets may acure but i think skyblue doms may also be your main bet he is golden face so it will be half half percentage white face and yellow face thats my guess they will be beautiful though and worth keeping any hens for yourself- Hi All, New To The Forum
hello and welcome so pretty coloured birds you have thanks for pics lov pics- Buying Birds
i have done a bit of both worlds i have brought some birds from same breeders cull from shops and some from breeders straight up pet type and show now im intending to get a bit more serious with the look of my birds not just the coulors and mutations im going to ring the local club and get the names of the breeders that breed the mutations i want let them know the colours and sex i want and just wait till their avalibal of course after looking at their stock and seeing if it fits the look i like it is way better to wait for a bird to come alone than hunt one down as if you wait you are more fussy if you hunt you just buy as you found it i started with intentions ended up hunting more than waiting now i find im only happy with half my stock and am culling birds i only brought in late dec 08 and onwards to date as i go out and when i look im not smiling at everyone just the ones i waited for the ones i hunted bar my new lace wing hen im now getting ready to cull off and start all over again and its just as they are the right coulours and mutations but not the look i like kind of wasted money really as im losing out culling them cheeper than i brought as to get them a decent home im talking my club rung stock not my pet types so daz that is fantastic advice everyone should head or end up like me with lots of nice birds but nothing that i really wanted as i hunted not waited pationce pays and im in no hurry to replace the birds i will be soon selling although i now have back in place my plan a plan is worth setting out and a goal of what you want to achive weather they be show or pet type birds a breeding plan is the way to go- A Winning Day Again

okay the blue does seen nonsuleet now compared to other two boys still i love him hes got a sweet face also well df looks good spangle lovley but i think you have chose well the only diffrents really is the spangles feathers seem smother but im sure thats just the picture he is lovley either these boys would give sae rezult ??? or difrent rezult chick mutation im meaning and colour?- Eastern District Budgie Auction (melbourne)
yarragon bird auction comming up anyone going their??? its june 21 i belive im going to try take a look if i can get their i also want to experiance what goes on and what birds fetch what- Storm And Cinder
that was kind of my point all the chick handling also. birds do not normally crush babys and unless their was like 11 chicks up to 7 is normal for a good laying hen and they move them aside from oldder chicks them selfs i have never had a mother squash a chick yet or it siblings if anything if thats the only worry just let nature do its thing i thought mum was not feeding i didnt relize you just been doing this to stop chicks being squashed some mothers have strong instinked to just exept chicks no matter whatshappening and if are use to being handled themselfs dont get stressed but jimmy does make a very good point be awear stress can even make her condition bad as she may not want to leave chick when their returned in fear they will be taken again and in return not want to leave remainding chicks alone and not feed herself take care with it all good luck once again- Storm And Cinder
can i ask ... was this your only pair put up and if not did you put them up at diffrent times and why take all her chicks away if it was just one she was neglecting you shouldnt put birds down unless you have other birds ready to foster ...incase . 3 pairs is the least i would put down together 6 is better 3 pairs all on one day then when their eggs start to get layed with me usually with in a day or to from each other all 3 hens have eggs being layed then 3 more pairs who also lay in same time frame all chicks hatching around each other this way their is always a few places to place chicks i never had a bird who wouldnt foster a chick this way im just concerned you may lose all your chicks if i was you and the other birds eggs haae not hatched yet but are due i would see if she would exept a chick if you put one in and placed egg back with hen you took chicks from then slowly replace all eggs with chicks if this works and all hens chicks with eggs to sit on then when the eggs hatch the chicks that are bigger can be replaced by yonger ones and the older ones either reared or tryed with oridganal mum once more i can explain it better with words i hope you get what im saying sounds like you got it under control but if thats any help rather than dragging chicks around ive done this once with someone elses chicks and my bird that did feed well it worked so.... may work for you hope all works out well for you jen- Sky Hen Ready To Breed
can see side by side pics they both lovley and im wanting to learn what to look for to complament a bird with eachother as i seem to look mainly at head more than anything it would help me understand how to choose good points to place into the birds being breed if its not a hassle and a quick run down of what you intend to improve on as this would show me where i go wrong when choosing my larger birds- Sky Hen Ready To Breed
i agree with the stud being based on a stronge famley line too i said sky for colour as i dont show i still tend to look more at colour still at now but i do also belive bloodlines stronge bloodlines breed best birds as i said potancy in that spangle is fantastic chicks all resemble him in face feachers (looks) if you are breeding for stock and not considering colour so much he would be my pick( THE spangle) but colour the df spangle also has fantastic potancy so yes he would be lovley i would still go the violet though as colour and potancy their feathers difrent so he looks to be tighter than her feather and her mask looks to be longer than his ...but mabe thats the angle his spots are lovley ,i would try him regardless besides if you dont take risks you will never know other wise stick to the cocks you know will produce what you know you will get if that makes sence- My New Clearwings
no she is violet i think but i agree she not looking to smiko eye looks puffed and looks really lathargic but ....dave knows birds so im sure she is all good if not he will be on to it she may just sleep like that nice birds though i love the cobalt cock- Sky Hen Ready To Breed
me i would use the sky boy also but if you did go a violet boy the second one you put up or the spangle that is almost everyones father so long you not going to end up with everyone to close if he throws good but thats the only reason your not using him, than i say the more potancy you get from a cock that is of good quality the better and keep the most like father splat the closest looking to him but you would know that for when you retire him how old is he just wondering oh and remember i dont show breed either i say sky as his colour is nice and even his head looks good couldnt see body all of so .... but he looked nice that my pick if my birds use violet next time ? mabe- Some Photos Of My Birds
love how you keep rubbin it in your birds are so nice ,their same look i look for but hard to find out my way i still think the grey cock i got from you is my fav well almost kazzy brought the cin cobalt hen for me i was so wraped she knows i like related stock or from same breeder and at time was short on cash i was so suprized and happy she was going to wait to give her to me for a house warming but as i needed cheering up gave her to me a recently im so in love with them i will get pics for you soon to see their progress- Grewying, Muddy Clearwing Or Dilute?
grey wings tened to have wider markings this a bad picture of my grey wing grey green diluted boy he young but will darken a tiny bit but notice the wing markings are wider than your birds i really dont know what yours is but i belived clear wing the tail would be nutreal to the wings not grey but i really dont know this thread may help me know what a green clear wing is like another grey wing a full body grey wing sky blue this picture above is a clear wing pet type though still a violet diluted clear wing but i still dont know what yours is i say grey wing unless the patches are purple as clear wings have purple patches ,grey wings silver or grey i was to belive ????? i just noticed the bird at frount on first picture is a defenent clear wing one behind i say defenent grey wing but thats my opinion good luck working it out- Getting Ready To Start Breeding Year 2009
then take all eggs and foster apropriatly mate as you would do leave her with the hard egg but if i was you i really would put a real one their and persist in getting her out of the habbit as she wont be anygood if she keeps doing it only as an egg farm, tryed a clear door ? mabe if you keep her with a egg thats a few days older i sometimes do that as so they get to raise a chick and are not sitting for nothing anyother birds with eggs less worth put just one with the marble see what she does if she destroys that then mabe someone else can help as i only breed pets not show so no egg is really that special yet.....- My First Show Pair
he is stunnig liv how jellous am i my tounge is on the floor she is lovley you should get some amazing babys congrads on the hatchling i will have any left overs nar just jokes but im not joking about my tounge on floor he fantastic im in loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Salfa A.v.s
know one ????- Irritated Eyes
i bath my birds eyes in salt water warm of course and keep away from other birds for two weeks if it reacures i then consider the vet as you have done- Getting Ready To Start Breeding Year 2009
mine had not much left it was totally cracked and pulled apart i still filled it and then stuck it in lol mabe try just coating it with crushed pepper by wetting egg a tad then roll in pepper then place back in that also been known to work use a diffrent hens egg if you think she is a valubale bird for your quality factor and place hers under the other hen as you have done that way if she does it again it wont matter so much birds do they really fall for that marbale thing i wouldnt have thought they were stupid enough ? - My 1st Ever Baby!
